A name for Baby Brother

My husband and I found out today that we’re expecting another BOY (we have a boy, a girl, and a boy already). Their names are [name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Worth[/name_m], [name_u]Lane[/name_u] [name_f]Eliette[/name_f] (who we call [name_u]Lanie[/name_u]), and [name_m]Brooks[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m].

We are stumped when it comes to boy names. In fact, it took us over 6 weeks after [name_m]Brooks[/name_m] was born to land on his name. :-? We were set on [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Adele[/name_f] for a girl, but our boy list is lacking.

Here’s our current list, though I’m not sure we’re in love with any of these. Our favorite by far is [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m], but I just don’t think we can do 3 L names and 1 B. Thoughts?

[name_m]Wells[/name_m]
Fields
[name_m]Lincoln[/name_m]
[name_m]Josiah[/name_m]
[name_u]Everett[/name_u]
[name_m]Weston[/name_m]
Browning
Chapel
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m]

Thank you in advance!

Congrats on your 3rd little boy! I have the same thought you do that having 3 L names is a little much. Of your choices, I like the sound of [name_m]Wells[/name_m] with the rest of your children’s names.

I think since you’ll typically say the names in age order it’s not as noticeable, but I agree that the three-Ls is not ideal.

[name_m]Franklin[/name_m]
[name_u]Flynn[/name_u]
[name_m]Holmes[/name_m]
[name_u]Reid[/name_u]
[name_m]Ryder[/name_m]
[name_m]Tanner[/name_m]
[name_m]Thatcher[/name_m]
[name_m]Fletcher[/name_m]
[name_m]Fielder[/name_m]
[name_m]Fisher[/name_m]
[name_u]Porter[/name_u]
[name_m]Palmer[/name_m]
[name_m]Webb[/name_m]
[name_m]Jove[/name_m]
[name_u]Collins[/name_u]
[name_m]Calvin[/name_m]
[name_m]Truman[/name_m]

[name_m]How[/name_m] do you feel about another B name to balance out the siblings? Something like [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] or [name_m]Beckett[/name_m] would be great - it has the B like [name_m]Brooks[/name_m] and two syllables like [name_m]Liam[/name_m], so you’d have 2 L names, and 2 two-syllable names, which is a cool way to make your kids’ names “go” without necessarily “matching”.

Combo ideas with [name_m]Bennett[/name_m]/[name_m]Beckett[/name_m]:

[name_m]Bennett[/name_m] [name_m]Wells[/name_m]
[name_m]Bennett[/name_m] [name_u]West[/name_u]
[name_m]Bennett[/name_m] [name_m]Cole[/name_m]

[name_m]Beckett[/name_m] [name_m]Wells[/name_m]
[name_m]Beckett[/name_m] [name_u]Wynne[/name_u]
[name_m]Beckett[/name_m] [name_u]Dean[/name_u]

I agree that another L name wouldn’t be ideal. My favourites on your list are Wells, Gabriel, and Everett. Maybe you would like one of the following…

Piers
Bowen
Davis
Maxwell
Easton
Marcus
Turner
Jensen

I like [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m], [name_m]Weston[/name_m] and [name_u]Everett[/name_u] the most but I also agree about the L-name thing.

Previous poster suggestions of [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] and [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] are really good, too.

I agree about the L thing.

I love:
[name_m]Josiah[/name_m] [name_m]Valor[/name_m]
[name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_m]Noble[/name_m]
[name_m]Weston[/name_m] [name_m]Valor[/name_m]

[name_m]Liam[/name_m], [name_u]Lanie[/name_u], [name_m]Brooks[/name_m], & _____:

[name_m]Gunner[/name_m], [name_m]Gibson[/name_m]
[name_m]Harrison[/name_m] ,[name_m]Holden[/name_m], [name_m]Harland[/name_m] “[name_u]Harley[/name_u]” “[name_m]Hank[/name_m]”
[name_m]Harvey[/name_m], [name_m]Hoyt[/name_m], Hutton
[name_m]Judah[/name_m]/[name_u]Jude[/name_u], [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], [name_u]Jensen[/name_u],[name_m]Jett[/name_m]
[name_m]Kiefer[/name_m], [name_m]Kellan[/name_m], [name_u]Keegan[/name_u], [name_u]Keenan[/name_u], [name_u]Keaton[/name_u],[name_m]Kyler[/name_m], [name_m]Kian[/name_m], [name_u]Kai[/name_u]/[name_m]Kaius[/name_m], [name_m]Kipling[/name_m] “[name_m]Kip[/name_m]”
[name_u]Micah[/name_u], [name_m]Maverick[/name_m], [name_m]Malcom[/name_m] “[name_m]Mack[/name_m]”, [name_m]Montgomery[/name_m], [name_m]Milo[/name_m], [name_m]Mathis[/name_m]
[name_m]Nolan[/name_m], [name_m]Nash[/name_m]
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m], [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], [name_m]Orrin[/name_m], [name_m]Orson[/name_m], [name_u]Orion[/name_u]
[name_m]Pheonix[/name_m] “[name_u]Finn[/name_u]”, [name_m]Preston[/name_m]
[name_m]Quaide[/name_m]
[name_u]Rhys[/name_u], [name_m]Rhett[/name_m], [name_u]Remy[/name_u], [name_m]Rocco[/name_m], [name_u]Royce[/name_u], [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]
[name_u]Sterling[/name_u], [name_u]Spencer[/name_u], [name_u]Sutton[/name_u], [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u]
[name_u]Tully[/name_u], [name_m]Thatcher[/name_m], [name_u]Teagan[/name_u], [name_m]Thayer[/name_m]

[name_m]Warren[/name_m], [name_m]Watson[/name_m], [name_u]Wallace[/name_u]*"[name_u]Wally[/name_u]", [name_m]Whittaker[/name_m] “Whitt”, Wrigley, [name_m]Walden[/name_m]

From your list I really like [name_m]Wells[/name_m] and [name_m]Weston[/name_m]

[name_m]Liam[/name_m], [name_u]Lanie[/name_u], [name_m]Brooks[/name_m] and
[name_u]Dean[/name_u]
[name_m]Fletcher[/name_m]
[name_m]Otis[/name_m]
[name_m]Otto[/name_m]
[name_m]Archer[/name_m]
[name_u]Jameson[/name_u]
[name_m]Vaughn[/name_m]
[name_m]Pike[/name_m]
[name_m]Thane[/name_m]
[name_m]Crew[/name_m]
[name_m]Drake[/name_m]

Thank you all for these suggestions! It’s helpful to hear that the 3rd L is a bit much, even to other people.

I really love the idea of “B” names. I think this is probably our last baby, so two Ls and 2 Bs would be sweet.

Also really love Maxwell, Josiah Valor, Everett Noble, Rhys, Crew, and Drake… so much food for thought! Thank you all!

Congratulations on baby number 4!
There are some great names on your list, but a few seem like that might be better suited to the middle spot, like [name_m]Wells[/name_m] and [name_m]Weston[/name_m].

Some ideas that might work nice with [name_m]Liam[/name_m], [name_u]Lane[/name_u], and [name_m]Brooks[/name_m]:
[name_m]Maxfield[/name_m]
[name_m]Thatcher[/name_m]
[name_m]Ferris[/name_m]
[name_m]Rigby[/name_m]
[name_m]Dawson[/name_m]
[name_m]Hayward[/name_m]
[name_m]Clark[/name_m]
[name_u]Porter[/name_u]
[name_m]Gibson[/name_m]
[name_u]Jude[/name_u]
[name_m]Colt[/name_m]
Danvers
[name_m]Roger[/name_m]
[name_m]Essex[/name_m]
[name_u]Raleigh[/name_u]
[name_m]Gabel[/name_m]

[name_m]Just[/name_m] saw your comment about B names!
Some new ideas with that in mind:
[name_m]Banfield[/name_m]
[name_m]Bishop[/name_m]
[name_m]Byron[/name_m]
[name_u]Ballard[/name_u]
[name_m]Bertram[/name_m]
[name_u]Baret[/name_u]/[name_u]Barret[/name_u]
Beaumont
[name_m]Birch[/name_m]
[name_m]Bower[/name_m]/[name_m]Bauer[/name_m]
[name_m]Beckett[/name_m]
[name_m]Barlowe[/name_m]
[name_m]Bowen[/name_m]
[name_m]Banner[/name_m]
[name_m]Broderick[/name_m]
[name_m]Burton[/name_m]

I immediately thought of [name_m]Wells[/name_m], even before I saw your list. Seconding the votes for [name_m]Weston[/name_m] and [name_m]Beckett[/name_m]/[name_m]Bennett[/name_m].

I agree two L’s and two B’s would be sweet

[name_m]Liam[/name_m], [name_u]Lanie[/name_u], [name_m]Brooks[/name_m] and

[name_m]Bennett[/name_m]
[name_m]Briggs[/name_m]
[name_u]Blake[/name_u]
[name_u]Bryce[/name_u]
[name_u]Brady[/name_u]
[name_m]Brody[/name_m]
[name_u]Brett[/name_u]
[name_u]Beck[/name_u]
[name_m]Beckett[/name_m]
[name_m]Bowman[/name_m]
[name_m]Boyd[/name_m]

[name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Worth[/name_m], [name_u]Lane[/name_u] [name_f]Eliette[/name_f] (who we call [name_u]Lanie[/name_u]), and [name_m]Brooks[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m].

I like [name_u]Everett[/name_u] and [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] best.

Wouldn’t have another ending in -s
[name_m]Wells[/name_m]
Fields

[name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] - it’s a president, not a first name
[name_m]Josiah[/name_m] - too biblical for my taste
[name_m]Weston[/name_m] - very 1980’s
Browning - as in browning the meat?
Chapel - why would you do this to a boy?

I like [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] and [name_m]Beckett[/name_m].

[name_m]Benjamin[/name_m]
[name_m]Benedict[/name_m]/[name_m]Benedikt[/name_m]
[name_u]Bryce[/name_u]
[name_u]Blake[/name_u]
[name_m]Brody[/name_m]
[name_m]Bowen[/name_m]

If you liked the name [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Adele[/name_f] for a girl, why not turn it into [name_m]Clark[/name_m] [name_m]Adler[/name_m] for a boy? Or something similar.

[name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] is a great name, but I’d probably use it as a middle name. [name_m]Wells[/name_m] [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] sounds great!

I think it matters more to use a name that you love than to worry about how many start with the same letter - [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] is a lovely name. That said, here are my opinions on the rest of your list:

[name_m]Wells[/name_m] - Too matchy with [name_m]Brooks[/name_m]
Fields - Too matchy with [name_m]Brooks[/name_m]
[name_m]Josiah[/name_m] - good balance between the popularity of [name_m]Liam[/name_m] and [name_u]Lane[/name_u]/[name_m]Brooks[/name_m]
[name_u]Everett[/name_u] - same as [name_m]Josiah[/name_m]
[name_m]Weston[/name_m] - I like it - same rough & tumble feel as the others
Browning - not a fan, doesn’t seem like a name and shares the first three letters with [name_m]Brooks[/name_m]
Chapel - not a fan
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] - same as [name_m]Josiah[/name_m], I like it

I knew a little boy named [name_m]Bryson[/name_m] once. He would keep all people on their toes. It might fit in with your other names.

Loving your thoughts… thank you so much!

(I also should have mentioned Browning and Chapel are family names and would be MIDDLE names… not first. But I think I’ve fallen out of love with both of them anyway.)

I still feel like I’m all over the map with what we’re looking for, but here are my faves as of today:

[name_m]Griffin[/name_m] [name_m]Wells[/name_m] (nickname [name_u]Finn[/name_u])
[name_m]Findley[/name_m]/[name_u]Finlay[/name_u]/[name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_m]Wells[/name_m] - but are the girls taking over this name?
[name_m]Beckett[/name_m] [name_m]Wells[/name_m]
[name_m]Wells[/name_m] [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] - I like this, but not totally convinced about [name_m]Wells[/name_m] as a first name
[name_u]Hudson[/name_u] [name_m]Wells[/name_m]
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_m]Wells[/name_m] (if I can convince my husband)

Other middle names I love: [name_u]Grey[/name_u] & [name_m]Valor[/name_m]

I’m filing lots of your ideas away. I appreciate the input!

The girls are definitely NOT taking over [name_u]Finley[/name_u]. It’s all boy to me! I like [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], but I think it’s a little long next to shortie names [name_m]Liam[/name_m], [name_u]Lane[/name_u], and [name_m]Brooks[/name_m].

[name_m]Griffin[/name_m] and [name_u]Finley[/name_u] are for sure my favorites!
