A name for baby girl!

I am currently 18 weeks pregnant with my first baby and it’s a girl!! Hubby and I are struggling with a name. I feel a lot of pressure to use my maiden name, Sage. While I love the name and hubby does too, two of my cousins have already used it as a middle name. I also really tend to gravitate towards Spanish, Italian, and Latin style names because my family also has Italian heritage and I am a fluent Spanish speaker. I’m not sure that Sage fits that vibe.
One name that we have both loved for years is Rosa. We think that is going to be her name but are struggling with a middle name. I’m not sure how I feel about Rosa Sage. Our last name is also German and begins with an “sh” sound which further complicates things.
I would love some help, thoughts, suggestions!

Thank you!

I love your choice of [name_f]Rosa[/name_f]. I don’t see why you have to use [name_u]Sage[/name_u] when a number of people have already. Could you honor a family member instead?

[name_f]Rosa[/name_f] is lovely!! I’d see if you could find another family honour name instead of [name_u]Sage[/name_u]?

[name_f]Rosa[/name_f] is so beautiful!
Have you considered spanish/italian translations of [name_u]Sage[/name_u]? The Spanish translation of [name_u]Sage[/name_u] the herb is [name_f]Salvia[/name_f]. I’m not sure about [name_f]Salvia[/name_f], but maybe [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] or [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]? The virtue translation of [name_u]Sage[/name_u], meaning wise, is sabia. Pehaps [name_f]Sabine[/name_f] or [name_f]Sabina[/name_f]? [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] [name_f]Sabine[/name_f] is lovely.

[name_f]My[/name_f] other suggestion is to lengthen [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] to Rosalie(a), [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalina[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosabel[/name_f]. [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] [name_u]Sage[/name_u] or [name_f]Rosalia[/name_f] [name_u]Sage[/name_u] seem to flow better.

Sounds like you’ve already come up with a good first name choice in [name_f]Rosa[/name_f]! I would use something else in the middle. You seem to have at least 3 reasons not to use [name_u]Sage[/name_u] in the middle: you would be doing it under pressure not out of love, it doesn’t flow well with [name_f]Rosa[/name_f], and it doesn’t seem to flow well with a ‘sh’ surname.

Some other random middle ideas (first 3 inspired by Sage):
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f] [name_f]Winsome[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f] [name_u]Truly[/name_u]
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f] [name_u]Harmony[/name_u]
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f] [name_f]Lucia[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f] [name_f]Liliana[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f] [name_f]Juliana[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f] [name_f]Christina[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f] [name_f]Caterina[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f] [name_f]Francesca[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f] [name_f]Dulcia[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f] [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]

[name_f]Rosa[/name_f] is a very pretty name! It definitely goes well with a [name_m]German[/name_m] last name.
However [name_u]Sage[/name_u] doesn’t flow with the [name_m]German[/name_m] “sch” (I’m German).

Maybe you like some of those Names:
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f] [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] (Sophia means “wise”, just like Sage)
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f] [name_f]Leonora[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f] [name_u]Florentine[/name_u]

I love the previous suggestions to honor [name_u]Sage[/name_u] in a unique way by either using a name that shares the literal or virtue meaning.
Two that stood out from above are:

[name_f]Rosa[/name_f] [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f] [name_f]Sabina[/name_f]
