A name to honour Norman?

I’ve been trying to find family middle names for my favourite names, and I want to use my late uncle’s name, [name_m]Norman[/name_m]. However, to me, it still has that “old-man” feel, and is associated with [name_m]Norman[/name_m] [name_m]Bates[/name_m]. So, i’m turning to you berries for help in finding a fresher name that can honour him. I don’t want something with just the first letter, as I don’t feel that’s obvious enough. The only option I can think of is [name_u]North[/name_u], because [name_m]Norman[/name_m] means “northerner”. However, it doesn’t fit with the style of the name combo I wanna use it with - [name_m]Jethro[/name_m] [name_m]Bryan[/name_m]. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated

What about [name_u]Norris[/name_u]? Like [name_m]Morris[/name_m] with an N.

I think [name_m]Normand[/name_m] is a variation of [name_m]Norman[/name_m]. I definitely like the aesthetics of [name_m]Normand[/name_m] better.

…Noren?

It doesn’t appear on nameberry yet, but it is the surname of a young man I knew once who was lovely.

Scandinavian, I think.

I agree that [name_m]Norman[/name_m] does still scream [name_m]Bates[/name_m]!

Northman
Norse
Eudo (an old Norse name)
I recommend researching Norse names or Norse mythology for something you like.

[name_m]Nolan[/name_m] is the closest I can come up with besides [name_f]Nor[/name_f]-ish names that either don’t “exist” or are not on n-berry yet. Some thoughts:
Norwell

[name_m]Norman[/name_m]= letters o,a, & n,n,m, & r =name scramble with [name_m]Norman[/name_m]'s letters= Mannor? [name_m]Amon[/name_m], Oman, [name_m]Omar[/name_m], or [name_m]Roman[/name_m]* I love the name [name_m]Roman[/name_m].

is to name him [name_m]Rockwell[/name_m], as in [name_m]Norman[/name_m] [name_m]Rockwell[/name_m].

[name_m]Rockwell[/name_m] is a name from my ancsestors and I love it.

[name_m]Norman[/name_m] --> [name_m]Roman[/name_m] is pretty clever. I also like [name_u]North[/name_u]. [name_u]North[/name_u] and [name_m]Jethro[/name_m] aren’t terrible together. If a name is meaningful I think that outweighs how it “matches” with sibling names.

Thanks for all the responses. [name_m]Just[/name_m] to clarify, in case some were confused, I want to use [name_m]Norman[/name_m] or a related name as a SECOND middle for [name_m]Jethro[/name_m] [name_m]Bryan[/name_m]. I’m trying to create 3 name combos all related to family.

@ellicrow - I like [name_u]Norris[/name_u], because it not only honors [name_m]Norman[/name_m], but another uncle, [name_m]Dennis[/name_m]. [name_m]Norman[/name_m] + [name_m]Dennis[/name_m] - [name_u]Norris[/name_u]. However, it was the name of Mr Filch’s cat in HP - Mrs [name_u]Norris[/name_u], so that kinda puts me off.
@oiseau - [name_m]Normand[/name_m] is okay, but makes me think of Normandy in [name_f]France[/name_f], so is more of a place name to me, which I’m not fond of. Thank-you though for the suggestion.
@lesliemarion - Noren is okay too, but I’m not sure it flows well with [name_m]Jethro[/name_m] [name_m]Bryan[/name_m]. I dislike [name_m]Rockwell[/name_m].
@rkrd - I had a look at Norse names, but none jumped out at me. Thank-you though for the suggestion, I’m just really picky!
@ashleyjuliette - I like [name_m]Nolan[/name_m], and [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_m]Roman[/name_m], however, I’m not sure they flow well with [name_m]Jethro[/name_m] [name_m]Bryan[/name_m].

[name_m]Alas[/name_m], the search goes on. I’m going to ask family if [name_m]Norman[/name_m] had a middle name that might be more palatable, if not I’ll look for more obscure references. Thanks fellow berries!

Before I realized it was for a middle I was going to suggest Normandy nn [name_u]Andy[/name_u].

Everything I thought of was mentioned except for [name_u]Noel[/name_u] (I like the [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] association which reminds me of snow, which reminds me of the white north…. [name_u]Noel[/name_u] -> [name_m]Norman[/name_m]) though I like the two below best.
[name_m]Jethro[/name_m] [name_m]Bryan[/name_m] Northman _____
[name_m]Jethro[/name_m] [name_m]Bryan[/name_m] [name_u]Noel[/name_u] _________.
