Besides the obvious [name]Dorothy[/name] (I kinda like [name]Dorotea[/name]), I want to know what the naming specialists could come up with names that could have the nickname [name]Dot[/name] (my hubby and I love the 1940’s)

Like you said, [name]Dorothy[/name] and [name]Dorothea[/name]/[name]Dorotea[/name] are the two most obvious (and probably the most lovely) options. You could flip [name]Dorothea[/name] and get [name]Theodora[/name] and use [name]Dot[/name] as a nickname. To stretch it a bit you could also use [name]Doris[/name], [name]Dorrit[/name], [name]Dorota[/name] (used on Gossip Girl) or [name]Dortea[/name].

[name]Dorothea[/name] is my favorite of the “[name]Dot[/name]” “[name]Dottie[/name]”" names…very sweet!

I love the nn [name_f]Dot[/name_f] but our surname ends in the same i sound as [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f].
