I love the name [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] but I worry that being a longer name, people will automatically want to shorten it and while I prefer naming your child what you intend to call them I know I cannot stop people form nicknaming. However, while I love [name_f]Susannah[/name_f], I really dislike the nicknames [name_f]Sue[/name_f] or [name_f]Susie[/name_f] and [name_f]Anne[/name_f] or [name_f]Anna[/name_f] are okay but nothing I love either. Perhaps I’m lacking creativity but I cannot think of a short version/nickname that I love, too, that I could put out preemptively for people to use if they wanted to call her something shorter.
I’m not usually a nickname person in the first place but the few I like, I feel have a certain vintage, sweet, spunky style like: [name_f]Millie[/name_f], [name_f]Maisie[/name_f], [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], [name_f]Minnie[/name_f], [name_u]Penny[/name_u], [name_f]Josie[/name_f], [name_f]Rosie[/name_f], [name_f]Lou[/name_f]… [name_f]Millie[/name_f] is by far my favorite nicknamey name… but I can’t think of anything in that vein for [name_f]Susannah[/name_f]. Am I missing something obvious? I feel like if I don’t find a viable nickname I just won’t be able to use it at all.
Oh I actually love [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] but somehow never thought of that for [name_f]Susannah[/name_f]! Not sure how i missed it. [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] is probably my favorite after [name_f]Millie[/name_f] and [name_f]Maisie[/name_f].
Zannah, Sannah, [name_f]Sukie[/name_f]. I know a [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] - an adult - who is always called [name_f]Susannah[/name_f]. [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] name!
I’ve always favoured [name_f]Sukey[/name_f]/[name_f]Suki[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Susanna[/name_f]. I know a [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] nicknamed Sassy, which I’ve always thought was fun, and [name_f]ZsaZsa[/name_f] also makes a cute and unexpected nickname. I really like the previous suggestions of [name_u]Sunny[/name_u], [name_f]Zanna[/name_f] and [name_f]Lily[/name_f]!
[name_u]Sunny[/name_u] and [name_f]Zuzu[/name_f] are my favorite, [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] is really lovely but you don’t need to use a NN if you really don’t want to.
[name_f]Susannah[/name_f] is wonderful and so underused. One [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] I knew used [name_f]Zanna[/name_f]/[name_f]Zannie[/name_f]. [name_m]Zan[/name_m] is another possibility. I also love [name_f]Suki[/name_f] and [name_u]Sunny[/name_u].
Susa (my favourite) [name_f]Annie[/name_f], [name_u]Sunny[/name_u], [name_f]Zana[/name_f]/[name_f]Zanna[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f] perhaps? From the meaning of [name_f]Susannah[/name_f]?
