A nickname for Jameson that isn't James or Mason

Any ideas? [name_f]My[/name_f] husband’s name is [name_m]Jamil[/name_m], so while [name_u]Jameson[/name_u] means son of [name_u]James[/name_u], it might work well enough for son of [name_m]Jamil[/name_m] too, or we can spell it [name_u]Jamison[/name_u] (and his middle will be [name_m]Jerome[/name_m] after grandpa). But [name_u]James[/name_u] is such a boring nn and [name_u]Mason[/name_u] is in the top 10. Because my husband’s name is [name_m]Jamil[/name_m], he likes the idea of his son having a slightly unusual name as well. [name_u]Jameson[/name_u] is different without sounding too far out there, which I like. So far I’ve vetoed [name_u]Jem[/name_u], he’s vetoed [name_m]Ace[/name_m] and [name_u]Sunny[/name_u], and his friend’s dog is named J.J., so we’re stuck! [name_u]Jameson[/name_u] would inevitably get shortened, we just want to have a good idea of what to shorten it to before other people settle on [name_u]James[/name_u]. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband is sometimes referred to endearingly as Jams by close friends, so I’ve considered that as a possibility, but I don’t know if that sounds too weird to outsiders as a nn. If anyone has any other creative ideas, I’d love to hear them! [name_u]Love[/name_u] the name [name_u]Jameson[/name_u] but without a good nn we might have to scratch it off the list. Thanks!

[name_f]My[/name_f] ideas for nicknames for [name_u]Jameson[/name_u] are: [name_u]Jem[/name_u] and [name_m]Jimmy[/name_m].

Personally… [name_u]Jameson[/name_u] [name_m]Jerome[/name_m] is a bit too many J’s for me.

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_u]Jamie[/name_u]? That’s the only obvious nickname I can think if. If you go with the Double J’s a nn could be JJ

I was also going to suggest [name_u]Jamey[/name_u]. [name_m]Jase[/name_m], [name_u]Jay[/name_u]…sorry I can’t think of anything else.

We have a [name_u]Jamison[/name_u] and call him [name_m]Jack[/name_m]

If you spell it [name_u]Jamison[/name_u], Jamis? prn [name_u]Jay[/name_u]-miss? Or is that too out there…

I never thought of [name_m]Jack[/name_m], and I kind of like it! I’ll ponder that one and see what the hubby thinks. [name_u]Jamie[/name_u] might work too - I wasn’t sure if that’s too out of style or too feminine these days. [name_m]Jayce[/name_m] (or [name_m]Jase[/name_m]), possible… Not a big fan of [name_u]Jay[/name_u] or Jamis though.

[name_u]Jem[/name_u]!
Such a great nickname

[name_u]Jai[/name_u]?
That could work.

[name_u]Jem[/name_u] is a wonderful choice, and as it’s a nice little hat tip to “To Kill a Mockingbird,” it can be taken however. Also, it’s catchy and easy to say for a little kid, and good choice on [name_u]Jameson[/name_u].

just [name_u]Jay[/name_u] or “J” my suggestion.

I really love the nickname [name_u]Jem[/name_u] for [name_u]Jameson[/name_u]! It’s so spunky. I like [name_m]Jimmy[/name_m] and [name_u]Jay[/name_u], too!

[name_u]Jess[/name_u], Mase, [name_u]Jay[/name_u], [name_u]Sonny[/name_u]
