I recently named my newly adopted guinea pig Peyton (her name was Potato and since I love the name Peyton and it sounded similar, it felt like the right choice). The name really suits her but all my piggies have nicknames, and I’m struggling with one that works for Peyton.
I don’t mind if it’s actually longer than Peyton itself or a bit silly (she’s a guinea pig after all, she probably doesn’t care )
So what nicknames can you think of for Peyton? As I say, it’s a name I love, but Peytie just sounds bit awkward? Maybe it could grow on me?
A few extra details and a picture, if you want
For reference, my other guinea pigs get called:
Luna: Lulu, Looney Tunes
Hattie: Hats, Hatticus, Battie Hattie
Pippa: Pips, Pippi
Keats: Keatsy
Otis: Oats, Oti, Oat-monster
Wilbur: Wilby, Wilberforce
Benvolio: Ben, Benny, Ben Bens
@Ehrob1 you have a Peyton!? [name_m]Ah[/name_m] that’s so cool!! [name_f]Princess[/name_f] P (or even [name_f]Princess[/name_f] Pey) and [name_u]Peppy[/name_u] are super cute!! Thank you!!
@Lightingale and @Chay how didn’t i think of that maybe also Po/Poe would work, from Potato?
I have no idea of spelling… but there is a female [name_f]Indian[/name_f] name like 'pritee or pretty?
or… the Irish potato word ‘pratie’(praytie), that would give you [name_u]Peyton[/name_u] and potato in one.
[name_f]My[/name_f] Goddaughter is Peyton-Rose and we call her P (and PR) I think P would be a sweet nickname! I also like @seawillow suggestion of [name_u]Toni[/name_u].
