What do you think of the nickname [name]Lettie[/name] for [name]Violet[/name]?
We always assumed we would call her [name]Vi[/name] but someone suggested [name]Lettie[/name]/[name]Letty[/name] as another nickname possibility.
Which do you prefer? [name]Vi[/name] or [name]Lettie[/name]?
I work with a [name]Violet[/name] and everyone calls her Purple:)

[name]Both[/name] are very cute nicknames, but I think I prefer [name]Vi[/name]…very cute!

I don’t think the other poster meant that her coworker was called Purple in a negative way…
I think she was trying to be helpful - I see it as a suggestion. I agree with one of the others that I don’t think that she intended it negatively.
Anyways. I like both equally as well, but [name]Lettie[/name] has a really cute appeal.
I like [name]Lettie[/name]. If I ever had a [name]Charlotte[/name] she would be a [name]Lottie[/name], and [name]Lettie[/name] is similar. [name]Vi[/name] doesn’t sound like a complete word. I always think people are halfway through a word when they say it.
I prefer [name]Lettie[/name]. [name]Vi[/name]'s always sounded like an old lady to me. [name]Lettie[/name]'s really cute. I agree with a pp - it reminds me a little of [name]Lottie[/name] which I also love.

I adore the nn’s [name]Lettie[/name] and [name]Lottie[/name] for some reason, so I’ll go with [name]Lettie[/name]. [name]Vi[/name] just makes me think of the word vie/vying.

Between [name]Vi[/name] and [name]Lettie[/name], I suppose I prefer [name]Vi[/name], but I don’t really like either.
My sister is named [name]Valerie[/name] and people always call her [name]Vi[/name]. She hates it tremendously though. She thinks it makes her sound like an old lady. So perhaps [name]Lettie[/name] would be the fresher option for you.
We call my [name]Violet[/name] [name]Vi[/name], or V (vee) or VV (vee-vee). [name]Lettie[/name] just doesn’t come naturally somehow.

I think [name]Lettie[/name] is a great nickname for [name]Violet[/name]. Some other options include [name]Viola[/name], [name]Leta[/name], [name]Vivi[/name], and [name]Lola[/name].
I prefer [name]Vi[/name] or [name]Vivi[/name].
Not a fan of [name]Lettie[/name]. I prefer [name]Vi[/name] or Vee. Also, I find the suggestion of using purple as a cute-at NN rather adorable.
I think [name]Lettie[/name] is adorable!! I also like the nn vivi for violet (pronounced viv-ee). Gorgeous name!!
