A question regarding etiquette and UCs

This is a silly question, but…

Suppose I make a post along the lines of ‘Help me find a middle name for XYZ’ and somebody replies with a great combo that I want to add to my user card, is that allowed?

I assume it is allowed, actually, because otherwise nobody would make posts asking for middle name help. However, whenever users discuss others’ UCs, there seems to be a natural assumption that the person to whom the UC belongs is solely responsible for the combos on it.

So do I credit the person who suggested the combo to me (and if yes, how?), or not?

This is purely my opinion, but I think it’s totally fine!!
[name_f][/name_f]If someone offers up suggestions to you, I see it as like they’re putting them out in the public for those to use. I’d probably thank them either via dm or by replying to their post, but I personally don’t feel there’s any need to credit on the UC!!

[name_m]Plenty[/name_m] of my UC has been formed with help from the berries [name_f][/name_f]- pretty sure most of ours have!!

I personally don’t see a need to credit and wouldn’t feel the need to be credited if I suggested a combo to you and you used it! It’s not how it’s usually done.

Echoing @tallemaja[name_f][/name_f] and @winterlyricalfox[name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]! For me, if you’ve asked for combos and I’ve offered ideas to you, I’ve given those names away and don’t need credit!

+1 everything else said here!

Also to add, don’t worry if you and another [name_f]Berry[/name_f] have the same combo! Both me and @billie_154[name_f][/name_f] came up with [name_f]Leonie[/name_f] [name_f]Florence[/name_f] on our own, and I think that’s quite fun that we both have the same name in our top 5!
