A sibling name to compliment Francesca Lily

We are expecting our second child in [name]July[/name] and need help with name advice!

[name]Francesca[/name] was easy for our daughter because it is a family name and kept the Italian heritage alive from my side of the family. We do not know the sex of the new child, so we need both a boy and girl name.

We are considering middle names to be [name]Dwight[/name] for the boy and [name]Jillian[/name]. These are also family names, but we are not set on this.

So far for first names we are considering…

FOR GIRL:
[name]Caroline[/name] (A true classic, but another long name with [name]Francesca[/name])
[name]Carly[/name] (We love it but I am concerned it is becoming popular)
[name]Naomi[/name]

FOR BOY:
[name]Graham[/name]
[name]Nolan[/name]
[name]Evan[/name] (may be too popular)
[name]Malcolm[/name] (we love this but the extended family does not)

Any help anyone can offer would be much appreciated! We are obviously open to other suggestions…

Thanks, Mama [name]Mia[/name]

[name]Hi[/name], Mama [name]Mia[/name]!

[name]Francesca[/name] [name]Lily[/name] is beautiful! Off your list, I like [name]Caroline[/name], [name]Naomi[/name], and [name]Nolan[/name] for your new baby. Here are some more ideas:

[name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Beatrix[/name]
[name]Calliope[/name]
[name]Diana[/name]
[name]Estella[/name]
[name]Gwendolyn[/name]
[name]Hannah[/name]
[name]Irena[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Lucia[/name]
[name]Magdalen[/name]
[name]Natalie[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Regina[/name]
[name]Sariah[/name]
[name]Vivian[/name]

Oh, I’m not so good with boy names today, but I do think a classic like [name]Christian[/name], [name]Benjamin[/name], [name]Oliver[/name], [name]Sebastian[/name], [name]Felix[/name], or [name]Silas[/name] would pair nicely with [name]Francesca[/name]…

Good luck!

[name]Lemon[/name]

[name]Hi[/name] there. From your list I think [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Jillian[/name] is wonderful! You could use [name]Carly[/name] as a nickname for [name]Caroline[/name] if you wanted and she could always go by [name]Caroline[/name] if [name]Carly[/name] was too popular in your area. None of your boys names are really jumping out at me except for [name]Malcolm[/name], which is a favorite of mine. [name]Malcolm[/name] [name]Dwight[/name] is great! I like [name]Graham[/name] a lot too but it feels a bit brief with [name]Francesca[/name], and [name]Graham[/name] [name]Dwight[/name] is too monosyllabic. Here are some suggestions:

Boys: [name]James[/name], [name]Owen[/name], [name]Alexander[/name], [name]Marcus[/name], [name]William[/name], [name]Caleb[/name], [name]Oliver[/name], [name]Raphael[/name], [name]Gavin[/name], [name]Nathaniel[/name], [name]Miles[/name], [name]Calvin[/name], [name]Julian[/name], [name]Sebastian[/name], [name]Harrison[/name], [name]Christopher[/name], [name]Nicholas[/name].

Girls: [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Susannah[/name], [name]Amelia[/name], [name]Johanna[/name], [name]Lydia[/name], [name]Gabriella[/name], [name]Katherine[/name], [name]Elsa[/name], [name]Audrey[/name], [name]Victoria[/name], [name]Martina[/name], [name]Diana[/name], [name]Helena[/name], [name]Evelyn[/name], [name]Jacqueline[/name], [name]Penelope[/name], [name]Cassandra[/name], [name]Elisabeth[/name], [name]Cecilia[/name]/[name]Celia[/name], [name]Eleanor[/name], [name]Lucia[/name], [name]Natalia[/name], [name]Keira[/name], [name]Josephine[/name].

hope that helps!

[name]Hi[/name]! I love [name]Caroline[/name] with [name]Francesca[/name]. [name]How[/name] about [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Naomi[/name]?

FOR GIRL:
[name]Caroline[/name]–[name]Lovely[/name] name. I really like this one with [name]Francesca[/name].
[name]Carly[/name]–Is this name still popular where you live? It was populat here about 20 years ago. I went to school with a lot of Carlys. To me is sounds a little dated.
[name]Naomi[/name]- I think this one would compliment Fransesca very well.

FOR BOY:
[name]Graham[/name]- I love this name. Not sure if I love it with Fransesca.
[name]Nolan[/name]- [name]Kinda[/name] trendy but still has a traditional vibe. I’ve always liked this name.
[name]Evan[/name] (may be too popular)-- I dont like this name that much. It is very trendy and way to popular right now.
[name]Malcolm[/name] (we love this but the extended family does not)–I really like this one with your daughter name.

Others you might like, sorry for repeats:

[name]Cecily[/name]
[name]Stella[/name]
[name]Sophie[/name]
[name]Vivienne[/name]
[name]Margo[/name]

[name]Lena[/name]

[name]Nathaniel[/name]
[name]Isaac[/name]
[name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Julian[/name]
[name]Dominic[/name]

[name]Vincent[/name]
[name]Anthony[/name]
[name]Adam[/name]
[name]Benjamin[/name]
[name]Leon[/name]
[name]Maxwell[/name]

[name]Hi[/name] [name]Mia[/name]

I support your choice of the name [name]Caroline[/name] not only because it is my name but because it is a beautiful classic that has been loved by generations of parents. In our family I can trace it back 150 years.

Did you know that that one of the nicknames used for [name]Caroline[/name] is [name]Carly[/name]? So go no further I think you have found your name!

I love [name]Alexander[/name] and it would work perfectly for you. It is such a handsome name and I love the nn of [name]Alex[/name].

Best wishes,

rollo

[name]Just[/name] a couple of ideas [name]Vivienne[/name] which someone has already suggested such a beautiful name and I think it fits well with [name]Francesca[/name], and [name]Oscar[/name] was a boys name that came to mind.

I love [name]Francesca[/name] [name]Lily[/name]!

[name]Caroline[/name]: I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] with [name]Francesca[/name]!!

[name]Carly[/name]: This is really trendy and dated. It doesn’t fit with [name]Francesca[/name] or with the rest of your list. Why not [name]Caroline[/name] nn [name]Carly[/name]??

[name]Naomi[/name]: I love [name]Naomi[/name], too! I can’t decide if I like [name]Caroline[/name] or [name]Naomi[/name] best with [name]Francesca[/name]…

[name]Graham[/name]: It seems a tiny bit trendy… also, it’s really close to the first syllable of [name]Francesca[/name].

[name]Nolan[/name]: It’s a nice name-- doesn’t do anything for me, but it’s nice enough and goes well with [name]Francesca[/name].

[name]Evan[/name]: I really like it, but yes, it is pretty popular…

[name]Malcolm[/name]: It shouldn’t matter what extended family thinks-- [name]Malcolm[/name] is a perfectly fine name (I’ve never really been a fan of it, but there’s nothing wrong with it).

[name]Louisa[/name]
[name]Vivian[/name]
[name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Miranda[/name]
[name]Eloise[/name]
[name]Violet[/name]
[name]Serena[/name]
[name]Helena[/name]
[name]Emmeline[/name]
[name]Miriam[/name]
[name]Abigail[/name]
[name]Gloria[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name]
[name]Eleanor[/name]

[name]Aidan[/name]
[name]William[/name]
[name]Jasper[/name]
[name]Matteo[/name]
[name]Sebastian[/name]
[name]Leo[/name]
[name]Nathaniel[/name]
[name]Vincent[/name]
[name]Maxwell[/name]
[name]Oliver[/name]

This is all so helpful!! Thanks! I forgot that [name]Carly[/name] was a sometimes shortened version of [name]Caroline[/name]. Although, I am a purist with names and do not love them to be shortened. I want [name]Francesca[/name] to go by her full name, it is so much prettier than [name]Fran[/name] or Cesca on it’s own.

It seems the consensus so far is for [name]Caroline[/name]. [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Naomi[/name] is awesome, but then we loose the family tribute name of [name]Jillian[/name]. Oh well, we haven’t told anyone yet so we can change that.

I am still struggling with the boy name. Great point re/the first syllable of [name]FRANcesca[/name] and [name]Graham[/name] being alike. That is not so good.

I saw [name]Julian[/name] noted a couple times. This is another we had thought about for boy.

I am open to more posts if anyone else cares to chime in!

Mama [name]Mia[/name]

Mama [name]Mia[/name]

Guess what my sister’s name is [name]Gillian[/name]! And pronounced as [name]Jillian[/name].

My name is [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Margot[/name] and I have just realised that [name]Margot[/name] is making a comeback so just maybe this would work for you.

My sister’s mn is [name]Lucille[/name].

Try to avoid combos that make the it ‘n’ heavy, ie too many 'n’s.

[name]Hi[/name]!

Oh my gosh, I love the name [name]Francesca[/name] [name]Lily[/name] so much! I think it’s gorgeous! From your list, my favorite name with [name]Francesca[/name] is [name]Caroline[/name] (but not with [name]Jillian[/name] in the middle), and I love [name]Naomi[/name], too.

I apologize for repeats!

[name]Francesca[/name] and:

[name]Arabella[/name]
[name]Aurora[/name]
[name]Annabelle[/name]/[name]Annabella[/name]
[name]Cecilia[/name]
[name]Carolina[/name] (but, depending on where you live, it may be mispronounced as care-oh-line-uh, like the state, instead of as care-oh-[name]LEE[/name]-nuh)
[name]Dahlia[/name]
[name]Delfina[/name]
[name]Delphine[/name]
[name]Evelina[/name]
[name]Elodie[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Georgiana[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name]
[name]Juliana[/name]
[name]Juliette[/name] (both [name]Juliana[/name], [name]Juliette[/name], and [name]Jillian[/name] come from the same root)
[name]Luciana[/name]
[name]Lucia[/name]
[name]Marielle[/name]/[name]Mariella[/name]
[name]Natalia[/name]
[name]Paloma[/name]
[name]Raphaela[/name]
[name]Rosaline[/name]
[name]Rosalie[/name]
[name]Seraphina[/name]
[name]Simona[/name]
[name]Talia[/name]
[name]Viviana[/name]
[name]Zara[/name]

(I love romantic names with [name]Francesca[/name]…) Most of the above don’t work with [name]Jillian[/name] in the middle, but I thought I’d list them in case you decided to go with a different middle.

(Not all of the below work with [name]Dwight[/name] in the middle, but I thought I’d list them in case [name]Dwight[/name] isn’t set in stone…)
[name]Augustin[/name]
[name]Dashiell[/name]
[name]Dante[/name]
[name]Edward[/name]
[name]Edmund[/name]
[name]Enzo[/name]
[name]Gabriel[/name]
[name]Hugo[/name]
[name]Julian[/name] (has the same root as [name]Jillian[/name])
[name]Leo[/name]
[name]Milo[/name]
[name]Maximilian[/name]
[name]Raphael[/name]
[name]Roman[/name]
[name]Sebastian[/name]
[name]Victor[/name]
[name]Vincent[/name]
[name]Viggo[/name]
[name]Willem[/name]

Take care!

For Boy…I love [name]Enzo[/name]! [name]Victor[/name] or [name]Matteo[/name] could be cool. I have always loved [name]Theo[/name] too.

Good suggestions!

[name]Hi[/name]!

I think that [name]Francesca[/name] is a gorgeous, feminine name, and [name]Francesca[/name] [name]Lily[/name] is probably my favorite [name]Francesca[/name] combo!

From your list, I can’t decide on whether I prefer [name]Caroline[/name] or [name]Naomi[/name] with [name]Francesca[/name]! [name]Caroline[/name] is a feminization, like [name]Francesca[/name], and I find it slightly girlier than [name]Naomi[/name]. However, [name]Naomi[/name] feels a bit more exotic, probably because of it’s -i ending, though it is also a classic… I think I’ll go with [name]Naomi[/name], though, since I prefer [name]Naomi[/name] [name]Jillian[/name] over [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Jillian[/name] (both names end in N, or at least the N sound, so the flow isn’t the best…).

You could also honor a [name]Jillian[/name] by using [name]Julia[/name], [name]Juliana[/name], [name]Julianne[/name], or [name]Juliet[/name]… I love how [name]Francesca[/name] and [name]Juliet[/name] both share that romantic quality! [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Julia[/name], [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Juliet[/name], [name]Naomi[/name] [name]Julia[/name], [name]Naomi[/name] [name]Juliana[/name], [name]Naomi[/name] [name]Juliet[/name], or [name]Juliet[/name] as a first name?

I would also suggest:
[name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Emmeline[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name] (or [name]Mathilde[/name])
[name]Evangeline[/name]
[name]Aurelia[/name]
[name]Cecilia[/name]
[name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Cordelia[/name]
[name]Clementine[/name]
[name]Beatrix[/name]
[name]Lucienne[/name]
[name]Rosalie[/name]
[name]Adelaide[/name]

For a boy, I like [name]Malcolm[/name] best from your list. [name]Graham[/name] [name]Dwight[/name] doesn’t really have the best flow with both names being one syllable and all. [name]Evan[/name] is a bit too popular next to [name]Francesca[/name]. [name]Even[/name] though both [name]Nolan[/name] and [name]Malcolm[/name] have two syllables, I feel like [name]Malcolm[/name] is longer and more distinguished, like [name]Francesca[/name].

I love [name]Julian[/name]! [name]Julius[/name] also goes well with [name]Francesca[/name], I think…

Others:
[name]Atticus[/name]
[name]Edmund[/name]-- probably not with [name]Dwight[/name]
[name]Edward[/name]-- ditto
[name]Rupert[/name]-- ditto
[name]Rufus[/name]
[name]Augustin[/name]
[name]Theodore[/name]-- but maybe too presidential with [name]Dwight[/name]…
[name]Arthur[/name]-- ditto

Hmm… I think that longer names pair well with [name]Francesca[/name]…

[name]Hi[/name] again! I’m glad you liked [name]Enzo[/name]! I think it’s so handsome, and I love it with [name]Francesca[/name]! I totally love [name]Victor[/name] and [name]Matteo[/name] with [name]Francesca[/name], too!

Have a good night!

I really like both [name]Caroline[/name] and [name]Naomi[/name] with [name]Francesca[/name]. It needs to be very feminine and strong. Good choices. I like [name]Nolan[/name] for a boy.

I love the name [name]Francesca[/name]! It is so elegant, feminine and exotic!

FOR GIRL:
[name]Caroline[/name] - a nice classic but I don’t really see it with [name]Francesca[/name].
[name]Carly[/name] - dislike- seems dated and trendy to me.
[name]Naomi[/name] -nice Biblical classic but again, I don’t really see it with [name]Francesca[/name].

FOR BOY:
[name]Graham[/name] - dislike+ due to bad personal connection!
[name]Nolan[/name]- okay but not really with [name]Francesca[/name]
[name]Evan[/name]- okay ditto above
[name]Malcolm[/name] - I like [name]Malcolm[/name] but not with [name]Francesca[/name]

I love so many of the suggestions you have had already.
I think these would be perfect. (I know most or all have been mentioned already):

[name]Juliana[/name]/ [name]Julia[/name]/ [name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Dahlia[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Susanna[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name]
[name]Mirabel[/name]
[name]Cecilia[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Viola[/name]
[name]Eleanora[/name]
[name]Catalina[/name]
[name]Scarlett[/name]
[name]Genevra[/name]
[name]Raphaela[/name]

[name]Julius[/name]/ [name]Julian[/name]
[name]Raphael[/name]
[name]Matteo[/name]
[name]Lucas[/name]
[name]Emilio[/name]
[name]Milo[/name]
[name]Dante[/name]
[name]Lucius[/name]
[name]Casimir[/name]/ [name]Caspar[/name]
[name]Jasper[/name]
[name]Otto[/name]
[name]Cyrus[/name]
[name]Dashiell[/name]
[name]Lorenzo[/name]
[name]Roman[/name]

Good luck deciding

[name]Francesca[/name] [name]Lily[/name] is lovely! I think [name]Naomi[/name] and [name]Caroline[/name] go best, [name]Carly[/name] is too tomboy. I like [name]Nolan[/name] and [name]Evan[/name] from your boys list.
Other ideas-
[name]Lorelei[/name], [name]Mariah[/name], [name]Sylvia[/name], [name]Anneliese[/name], [name]Paulina[/name], [name]Daphne[/name]
[name]Simon[/name], [name]Elliot[/name], [name]Colin[/name], [name]Micah[/name]
I really like the suggestion of [name]Roman[/name], it sounds great with [name]Francesca[/name].
