I might post some more sibling groups from my family some time. A lot of my mom’s side were pilgrims and later on the American frontier. These kids were born in the 1860-80s Kansas.
What do you think of these? I Wonder where they got some of these names?
Laura Luretta (apparently nicknamed Louie)
Amazona Elizabeth
Margaret Anna
Ulysses B. (No info on what the B stands for)
Alonzo Homer
Tolbert Dale
Lorenzo Rosswell
Della Alaretta
Olive Lettitia
Bertha May
[name_m]Alonzo[/name_m]! I had never heard of that outside of the [name_f]Laura[/name_f] Ingalls [name_u]Wilder[/name_u] books! Also Amazona is so unique!
I guess I don’t remember the [name_m]Little[/name_m] House books as well as I thought because I don’t remember an [name_m]Alonzo[/name_m]! I actually thought that was one that was a bit out of place along with Amazona.
[name_f]Laura[/name_f] Luretta-Okay, I wish that they had spelled [name_f]Loretta[/name_f] this way, but can’t be too picky! I never though that I’d like [name_u]Louie[/name_u] for a girl, but [name_f]Laura[/name_f] nn [name_u]Louie[/name_u] is pretty cute!
Amazona Elizabeth-Whoa, that’s an interesting one.
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] Anna-That’s such a beautiful combo.
[name_m]Ulysses[/name_m] B.-Ulysses is a little bit of a mouthful, but I guess it’s also kind of neat.
[name_m]Alonzo[/name_m] Homer-Not my cup of tea, but a cool name none the less.
[name_m]Tolbert[/name_m] Dale-Never heard [name_m]Tolbert[/name_m]. Not sure I love it.
Yeah. Amazona is stumping me. Maybe it came from a book or I guess they could have made it up? Tolbert used to be a semi well known name, apparently.
Della’s middle name, Alaretta, doesn’t sound too odd, but I can’t find much info on that one.
