Hello Everyone, we are expecting a second little girl and I am interested in getting some thoughts on name suggestions. Our daughter is [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and we adore this name. I love that it is feminine without being frilly and a classic name that everyone knows, but you don’t hear that often (although as it is rising in popularity that may not be so true anymore).
Currently, we are drawn to the name [name_f]Julia[/name_f]. I think it’s a beautiful, classic name although I am slightly concerned that it is fairly common. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband also likes [name_f]Sophie[/name_f]. I like it, but do not love it. It sounds a little too sweet to me. A few of my wild cards are [name_f]Brynn[/name_f] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f].
We cannot use the names Eve/Ava, Amelia/Emilia, or [name_f]Eliza[/name_f].
There are some lovely names out there on own terms and to complement Audrey. Might help to consider if you wish to emphasise the classic/Brit-Euro feel of Audrey, or its tailored quality and/or “Southern” vibe.
Clara
Sofia/Sophia (like that means have own starting letter and ending sound - but can then nn Sofie/Sophie)
Juliet / Julia (I like both but drawn to Julia atm)
Tabitha (love, esp nn Tibby)
Leonor
Greer
Tessa
Iris
Magnolia
Hollis
Piper
Camille
Imogen
Violet
Laurel
Willa

Elsbeth

Lydia
I like Sylvie but maybe too rhyme-y, it is pretty though. Don’t love Brynn, think there are better unisex/clipped names out here - including Hollis.
Oh, I think [name_f]Julia[/name_f] is perfect! Feminine, classic, ageless, not frilly, not trendy–everything [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is. And I’m not seeing any baby [name_m]Julias[/name_m] anywhere.
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f], [name_f]Brynn[/name_f], and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] are all great choices too, and they all work as sisters to [name_f]Audrey[/name_f].
I don’t know if you wanted more suggestions, but lists are fun to make, so here you go:
I love siblings named [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and [name_f]Julia[/name_f]! I don’t think [name_f]Julia[/name_f] is too popular at all. I’ve only heard of one [name_f]Julia[/name_f] in my life. There’s a great post by the baby name blog Swistle called “Even the Top Ten Isn’t Necessarily the Kiss of Death.” And [name_f]Julia[/name_f] is far from the top ten, so I think it’s absolutely fine!
You could also do [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] which also matches [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and is even less popular than [name_f]Julia[/name_f].
Suggestions:
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Evelyn[/name_f] (too close to Eve/Ava?)
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] (too close to Eliza?)
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]
Catherine/Katherine
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
Claire/Clare
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and [name_f]Julia[/name_f] are perfect together!
They are both classic names that feel fresh and unexpected. They have a timeless sparkle and I can’t believe that I never thought of them together before!
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] is sweet as well but seems much more popular than [name_f]Julia[/name_f].
I also like the suggestion of [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], but you can’t go wrong with [name_f]Julia[/name_f] - it’s stunning!
I think [name_f]Julia[/name_f] (or Juliet) is absolutely perfect with [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]! She’s not too popular, ranking outside of the top 100 in the US – I’ve only met one [name_f]Julia[/name_f] ever. Some other elegant, understated choices you might like:
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is lovely! I like [name_f]Julia[/name_f], [name_f]Brynn[/name_f], and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] with her a lot.
[name_f]My[/name_f] first ideas were [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Meredith[/name_f], I know a sister duo who is [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and [name_f]Meredith[/name_f], and I just feel like [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] were made for each other! I had [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] on my list for years until I added [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] to my list as a first name. Here’s a few other ideas:
I love [name_f]Julia[/name_f] as a sister for [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] – equally classy, timeless, and quietly Hollywood-esque. [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] are gorgeous too, and bring out Audrey’s chic [name_f]French[/name_f] side. In the same vein, [name_f]Ines[/name_f] would make a lovely sister for [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] in my opinion.
[name_f]Julia[/name_f] is slightly less poplar than [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], so I think you’re good to use it It’s a solid name.
I do like [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] more, but it doesn’t feel like it’s right for you. I like [name_f]Brynn[/name_f] a lot though - and the sleek [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]!
Of your options I love [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]. [name_f]Julia[/name_f] feels more dated (as opposed to vintage) than [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] to me, while [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] is [name_m]Uber[/name_m] popular in my area, and [name_f]Brynn[/name_f] feels like a mismatch stylistically.
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] is definitely way more popular than [name_f]Julia[/name_f]! So if popularity is a concern I’d steer clear of [name_f]Sophie[/name_f]. [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] is #5 on US charts and [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] is #60. While [name_f]Julia[/name_f] is #122. So quite a bit further down in the charts! I think [name_f]Julia[/name_f] fits really well with [name_f]Audrey[/name_f].
Julia’s not that common, it ranked well into the 100s last year. It should be fine. [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is actually higher.
If you want to use both names, [name_f]Julia[/name_f] [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] is a pretty combo. I like [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and [name_f]Julia[/name_f] as a pair of sisters
For what it’s worth, [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] is waaaay high in popularity so if that matters to you, I would go with something else. [name_f]Julia[/name_f] is still out of the top 100 but it does feel much more classic than [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] to me.
A few suggestions outside the top 200 that I think would pair well with sis’s name but strike that same balance you love:
I love [name_f]Julia[/name_f] with [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]! I prefer [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] with [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] more than [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f].
Congrats! I love [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]- I think [name_f]Julia[/name_f] or [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] pairs well. I do like [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] a lot but I don’t care for the matchy/rhymey endings of [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] & [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] together
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] has actually been a top 100 name for years. I also like [name_f]Julia[/name_f] with [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], though [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] sounds even better with it.
