I like [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] with the nickname option of [name_f]Suzie[/name_f]. I have a negative association with my high school named [name_f]Susan[/name_f], whom no one was fond of. Other wise I would love it.
I live the long o in [name_f]Cleo[/name_f].
[name_m]Pearl[/name_m] keeps growing on me more and more!
[name_f]Helen[/name_f] is a name I have never thought twice about, or if I did it was probably negatively. But for some reason seeing it on your list, I kind of dig it? [name_f]Love[/name_f] the âshining lightâ meaning, too.
Louise/Lou/LuLu always holds high ranking for me- I just LOVE the nickname [name_f]Lou[/name_f] for a little girl. I can picture her being sweet and gentle yet a fiesta tomboy at the same time.
Adding [name_f]Lois[/name_f] to my list to ponder, along with [name_f]Martha[/name_f], [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f].
[name_f]Claudia[/name_f] was my grandmotherâs name! Couldnât use it because she was Warrenâs wife and weâve already used that, but I love that Iâm seeing it on lists more frequently. And [name_f]Renee[/name_f] is actually my motherâs middle name! I saw it in a birth announcement recently and it has reallllly grown on me. I might want it as a first name if my husband didnât also have an aunt by that name. Also LOVE [name_f]Fern[/name_f], but we run into issues with a lot of the word-y names paired with our surname. ADORE [name_f]Enid[/name_f] if there wasnât an unsavory town by the name near us. I like a lot that youâve listed, really!
[name_f]Petra[/name_f]
That is one I keep coming back to. I like it with our surname, it has a lot of the letters and sounds I seem to be drawn to, I think I like the impression I get from it? But my brain canât get past âpetrifiedâ? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think thatâs a common association or am I way overthinking? I mean it does me a rock, but would people hear après and picture a piece of petrified wood or something? I always come back to it and canât decide how I feel.
[name_f]Rita[/name_f] was my maternal grandmotherâs name! Well, she pronounced it like [name_f]Rita[/name_f], but spelled it Rhetta.
[name_f]Rhoda[/name_f] has a lot of the letters I seem to be drawn to. Sort of reminds me of [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] without the âmoanâ jokes and I already know someone named [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] so couldnât use it anyway.
[name_f]Polly[/name_f] is so sweet!
[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Maxine[/name_f] and [name_f]Lois[/name_f].
[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Maxine[/name_f], [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] (canât use, but I like it), [name_f]Joyce[/name_f], [name_f]Edna[/name_f] and [name_f]Alma[/name_f].
Iâve always had [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] on my list as a middle, but youâre making me like it more for a first. LoVE Ruth/Ruthie but a friend just used it.
Also love [name_f]Fern[/name_f], [name_f]Opal[/name_f], [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f]. [name_f]Opal[/name_f] and [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] keep growing on me.
Iâm glad you like lots of the suggestions! [name_f]Helen[/name_f] is one I have done a 180° on too â I used to dislike it but now I think itâs just the best! I agree, the meaning is lovely, and I think it works so well with your boysâ names. I also adore the nickname [name_f]Lou[/name_f]! And as for [name_f]Petra[/name_f], I have never actually thought of âpetrifiedâ from it! I can definitely see where youâre coming from, but I had never considered it so I would hope other people wouldnât either. To me, I think of the name [name_m]Peter[/name_m] and the ancient rock city in [name_m]Jordan[/name_m]. Maybe if your surname starts with F it would make it sound like petrified, but I think people hopefully wouldnât think of it otherwise.
Loveee [name_f]Frida[/name_f]! I wish the baby name brand hadnât gotten so popular here because now it feels unusable. Also love [name_f]Fern[/name_f]. And really wishing we hadnât used [name_f]Greta[/name_f] for a dog because it would totally be on a list otherwise.
[name_f]Love[/name_f] love [name_f]Lucille[/name_f], I think Iâve shied away from as a first name because [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is in like the top 15 here and that scares me. But [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] might be distinct enough from [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]? Also like [name_f]Marielle[/name_f]. I keep moving [name_f]Abilene[/name_f] on and off of my list because I love it but we are also a bit too close to [name_f]Abilene[/name_f], TX to use it on a child. I always seem to accidentally like town names⌠but, like, not towns you would want to name a child after, haha. A lot of towns in our state have the best old lady names but donât have great associations with the place.
[name_f]Love[/name_f] Ruth/Ruthie so much! A friend just used it so I wonât ever be able to, but it is one my all-time favorites. [name_f]Jolene[/name_f] has been on my middles list, but maybe I should consider it for a first name.
I like [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] with our surname, and love the meaning. Donât love the name on its own, but it always comes back around to my list so I just like it quite a bit.
Lynette⌠I love Etta/ettie and a lot of -ette names. Not sure why Iâve never considered [name_f]Lynette[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] husbandâs grandmother is [name_f]Carolyn[/name_f], so maybe it could also be a very reachy nod to her.
[name_f]Stella[/name_f] would probably be the top pick with our last name if it didnât get sooooo popular here. I love it. Also love [name_f]Estelle[/name_f], just doesnât flow quite as well as [name_f]Stella[/name_f].
[name_f]Adore[/name_f] a [name_f]Louise[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lou[/name_f]. Adding [name_f]Lois[/name_f] to the list.
I think [name_f]Jean[/name_f] is one of those names that sounds great in the middle spot for so many first names. Donât think we could use it as a first because our surname is St0râŹr, so a lot of potentially word-sounding names get weird. [name_f]Jean[/name_f] St0râŹr would sound like a closet or department store. We should have taken my last name when we got married.
[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Enid[/name_f], [name_f]Margot[/name_f], [name_f]Polly[/name_f], [name_f]Nina[/name_f], and loved [name_f]Greta[/name_f] so much we used it for a dog.
I heard a mom calling after a little [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] at the park yesterday and she was the absolute cutest thing! Our friends already have a Jocie, so Iâm not sure if it would be too close for us to actually use, but it has been growing on me!
[name_m]Saw[/name_m] someone with a little [name_f]Peggy[/name_f] recently and it felt like such a pleasant surprise to see a baby named [name_f]Peggy[/name_f]!
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] has slowly been growing on me, [name_f]Margie[/name_f] would be cute.
I like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Lottie[/name_f], ettie/etta, [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], [name_f]Florence[/name_f], Frances/ [name_f]Francine[/name_f].
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] has been slowly growing on me, but I have an aunt [name_f]Marge[/name_f] that sort of tainted the feel of the name. Donât know why I didnât think of [name_f]Maggie[/name_f]! Moving Margaret/Maggie up the list!
[name_f]Love[/name_f] the feeling of [name_f]Joy[/name_f] / [name_f]Joyce[/name_f], more so as a middle, but who doesnât wish [name_f]Joy[/name_f] upon their children?
[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], lulu, [name_f]Margo[/name_f], and [name_f]Stella[/name_f].
You and your sister have great names! I am impressed by the list you came up with based only on our sonsâ names because you hit the nail on the head, haha!
[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Alba[/name_f]! [name_f]Rita[/name_f] was my grandmotherâs name, except she spelled it Rhetta )pronounced it like [name_f]Rita[/name_f], Though)! [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], and [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] are all nice.
