Not pregnant, just musing. I have a daughter named Cora Beatrice and we hope to have another child in the future so I am toying with name combinations. The names on my current short list are:
Olive - I’m worried that she will get lost in a sea of Olivias. We have good friends who have named their daughter Olivia.
Frances - I love this old fashioned nature of this name, but is it too frumpy?
Ophelia - Is this too much when paired with Cora?
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Cora[/name_f] are a really sweet sibling pair. The nickname [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] livens the name up if you’re worried about frumpiness. Other names you might like:
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f]
I see what you mean but I find it’s becoming more mainstream and I’m seeing [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] on all sorts of little girls! [name_f]Francie[/name_f] is very cute and dainty, I don’t find it old-fashioned and think it livens [name_f]Frances[/name_f] up too. I would say Franny/ [name_u]Fran[/name_u] as a nickname is too old-fashioned…
i love your short list! my fave combo is [name_f]Cora[/name_f] & [name_f]Frances[/name_f], but personally i don’t think that [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] is too much w/ [name_f]Cora[/name_f]. here are some other suggestions <3
I love [name_f]Frances[/name_f] with [name_f]Cora[/name_f] and my favourite nn is [name_f]Francie[/name_f]. I would actually use that name myself, it’s gorgeous!
I’m feeling pretty good about [name_f]Frances[/name_f] after all this support! Funny enough, [name_f]Cora[/name_f] had been my top pick for YEARS but when it came time to name her I just wasn’t sure. [name_m]Even[/name_m] after I named her, I questioned it a bit. We called her Coco/Cocobean/Coconut when she was a tiny baby as [name_f]Cora[/name_f] seemed a bit too old for her. I love it now and I am grateful I didn’t pick something else.
Cora and…
Frances with a spunky nn like Frankie or Francie!

[name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] is sweet.
Here are my thoughts on what you’ve got so far:
Olive-I see that this looks like [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], but it sounds totally different. I love [name_f]Olive[/name_f], myself. It’s vintage & artsy & spunky & feminine w/out being frilly. It’s simple & not too over done. Fits perfectly w/Cora.
Frances-I don’t think that it’s frumpy. I see what you mean, but that’s kind of the charm of it if it is a little bit frumpy. It’s well known but rarely used & really nice w/Cora. It feels like the most unique option from you list. I love the fun & natural sounding nns of [name_f]Franny[/name_f] & [name_f]Francie[/name_f] as well.
Ophelia-I’m not personally into this one. I just think it sounds so dark & dramatic. It’s not an unpleasant name; just a bit much in my opinion.
I think Cora and Frances go best!! They’re so cute and vintage. I’m personally not a fan of Olive, but I like that it’s short and shares an “o”. I do think Ophelia is a bit too long if you care about that sort of thing, but It has a regal vintage feeling which I think goes with Cora well!
I love all of the names you have picked as potential sisters to [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] ( which is a stunning name)
I love [name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] as a combo ! I don’t know if that is an option. [name_f]Olive[/name_f] and [name_f]Cora[/name_f] are stunning together - they are tied to nature , share syllables and are not unheard of but certainly not common.
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] is stunning ! I know one [name_f]Frances[/name_f] (6) and 1 Franceska (29). One goes by [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] and the other goes by her full name. I love the idea of [name_f]Fancy[/name_f] as a nickname( I am obsessed with [name_f]Reba[/name_f] songs)
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] is stunning yet so tragic! I think it’s a little grand next to [name_f]Cora[/name_f] , but they don’t sound bad together ! Very eclectic
I really like [name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] or [name_f]Frances[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f] as a combo too. I think we will end up with either of those if it’s a girl.
[name_f]Olive[/name_f] and [name_f]Frances[/name_f] are two of my favourites names and ones which I would certainly consider using. If you are worried about he confusion between [name_f]Olive[/name_f] and [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] (I honestly thing both names have completely different feels) go for [name_f]Frances[/name_f]. I can’t see anything wrong with it at all. It is a beautiful name. I’m not such a fan of [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] but that’s just my opinion
I absolutely love [name_f]Cora[/name_f] & [name_f]Frances[/name_f]!
Firstly [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] is a lovely classic choice and I think the delightful [name_f]Frances[/name_f] sounds fab with [name_f]Cora[/name_f]. [name_f]Frances[/name_f] is a lovely classic name that feels vibrant (not frumpy) especially with [name_f]Cora[/name_f]. I actually love the idea of [name_f]Frances[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] I think [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] feels so fresh and unexpected in the middle slot. [name_f]Frances[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] is beautiful.
I do love [name_f]Olive[/name_f] but could be too close with your friend having an [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] especially as they are good friends. [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] is also lovely I think works well with [name_f]Cora[/name_f] but just prefer the vintage vibes of [name_f]Frances[/name_f].
You’ve had a few ideas so class any repeats as me being in agreement with the berries
