Like [name]Matilda[/name] on your list. nn [name]Millie[/name] would be cute for this name, too!

I also picture [name]Lucy[/name] with a sister named [name]Alice[/name]. If you want a nn, you could go with [name]Ali[/name]? But [name]Alice[/name] by itself would be cute, too!

My two picks:

[name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name] ([name]Charlie[/name]?) - I love this combo but [name]Lottie[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name] are a little cutesy imo.

[name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Dorothy[/name] ([name]Dottie[/name])

I like all of the names on your list, but I would actually pair [name]Lucy[/name] with something shorter and lighter, since [name]Lucy[/name] is the full name and isn’t short for anything. I do think [name]Lucy[/name] is the kind of nickname name that stands just fine on its own, but I think if you pair it with something like [name]Millicent[/name], it suddenly seems off balance. While [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Millie[/name] sound great together, it’s awkward that for one child, there is a more formal name and for the other that’s it.
That said, I would pick another nickname type name that, like [name]Lucy[/name], is substantial enough on its own to sound like a full name but light enough to not need to be reduced to another nickname. [name]Lily[/name] meets this description perfectly! [name]Alas[/name], [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Lily[/name] are probably too close for sisters :frowning:

Some other suggestions:
[name]Zoe[/name]
[name]Anna[/name]
[name]Rosa[/name]
[name]Mia[/name]
[name]Tessa[/name]
[name]Cora[/name]

I really like [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Emily[/name] and [name]Dorothy[/name] as a sister for [name]Lucy[/name]

Thank you for the replies. (:

We do love [name]Matilda[/name] and hadn’t thought of [name]Millie[/name] before - love the idea  I see [name]Millie[/name] as a quieter child, and [name]Tilly[/name] as a more lively one, but that may just be me! [name]Alice[/name] does sound nice with [name]Lucy[/name], but it’s out due to family reasons :frowning:
I agree that when you say them together, [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Lottie[/name] do sound very cutesy, but I really don’t like [name]Charlie[/name] as a nn. Maybe [name]Charlotte[/name] will just have be a middle name…
I know that [name]Lucy[/name] is short, but we do call her ‘[name]Lulu[/name]/[name]Lola[/name]’ quite a lot of the time so she has a nickname aswell. I do understand your point, though about some of the names sounding off balance with [name]Lucy[/name].

[name]Matilda[/name] with nn [name]Tilly[/name] is my favorite from your list.

[name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Matilda[/name] nn’s [name]Lulu[/name] and [name]Tilly[/name] are adorablel!

The front runners at the moment for us are [name]Matilda[/name], [name]Francesca[/name], [name]Dorothy[/name] and [name]Emily[/name]. However, I’ve been reading more and more about [name]Emily[/name]'s popularity - is it really that popular??
I don’t know about middle names ([name]Lucy[/name] is [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Olivia[/name]) So far we have…
[name]Matilda[/name] [name]Rosalind[/name] (but it’s too ‘d’ heavy for my liking)
[name]Francesca[/name] [name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Emily[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] (but concerns about [name]Emily[/name]'s popularity)
[name]Dorothy[/name] [name]Rose[/name]

I love [name]Matilda[/name] esp. with nn [name]Tilly[/name]!! That would be super cute with [name]Lucy[/name] I think!

Can anyone help with middle names for [name]Dorothy[/name] and [name]Matilda[/name], please?
[name]Matilda[/name] [name]Rosalind[/name] seems too ‘d’ heavy, [name]Dorothy[/name] [name]Rose[/name] seems a filler middle name.

[name]Matilda[/name] [name]Blythe[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name] [name]Bess[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name] [name]Frances[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name] [name]June[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name] [name]Louise[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name] [name]May[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name] [name]Poppy[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name] [name]Ruby[/name]

If you’re looking for a [name]Rose[/name] name with [name]Matilda[/name], you may also like [name]Matilda[/name] Roseline or [name]Matilda[/name] Rosabel. (I think [name]Matilda[/name] Roseline has a better flow than [name]Matilda[/name] Rosabel, though…)

[name]Dorothy[/name] [name]Bess[/name]
[name]Dorothy[/name] [name]Camille[/name]
[name]Dorothy[/name] [name]Frances[/name]
[name]Dorothy[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Dorothy[/name] [name]Maeve[/name]
[name]Dorothy[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Dorothy[/name] [name]Rosaline[/name]

Good luck!

I think [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name] sound perfect together!!

[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Louise[/name]

I love [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name], but [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Lottie[/name] are way too similar and I’m not such a fan of [name]Charlie[/name] as a nickname for [name]Charlotte[/name]. I voted for [name]Amelie[/name], I think [name]Millie[/name] is gorgeous and goes really well with [name]Lucy[/name].

I agree with this.

[name]Dorothy[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Dorothy[/name] [name]Rae[/name]
[name]Dorothy[/name] [name]Violet[/name]
[name]Dorothy[/name] [name]Winifred[/name]

[name]Matilda[/name] is so perfect with [name]Lucy[/name]. [name]Love[/name] it and nn of [name]Tilly[/name].

[name]Matilda[/name] [name]Violet[/name], has wow factor imo.

[name]Matilda[/name] [name]Poppy[/name] and [name]Dorothy[/name] [name]Violet[/name] are both lovely. Also, thinking about [name]Molly[/name] to honour DH’s mother, [name]Mary[/name] (it’s the only variant of [name]Mary[/name] we both like).
Are siblings [name]Matilda[/name] and [name]Molly[/name] too close? [name]Even[/name] if [name]Matilda[/name] was nicknamed [name]Tilly[/name] most of the time?
