A Strikingly Beautiful Name For A Girl

Hello Berries!

I plan to officially start trying to conceive in a year if I’ve completed my weight loss journey successfully. So being the type of name nerd I am I’ve decided to add more names to my list.

A lot of my favorites tend to be popular names like [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] and [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f], but I do love some more unusual ones. I lost my list of them so I could use a bit help rebuilding them. I’m looking for a names that are enchanting and somewhat uncommon. @ricalin
I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_f]Odette[/name_f]. I have since I first watch Swan [name_f]Princess[/name_f] when I was a little girl. It just might have been one of the first names that lead me to become a huge name nerd.

I really like [name_f]Jordana[/name_f]. I used to like [name_u]Jordan[/name_u] on a girl because of the tv show Crossing [name_u]Jordan[/name_u], but my taste in names has changed since then. [name_f]Jordana[/name_f] is definitely making it’s way onto my list.

I’ve always love [name_f]Oksana[/name_f] since I watched the [name_f]Oksana[/name_f] Baiul movie. On my mothers side of the family I’m Polish and Russian so I could use it, but I worry how people would react to it.

I really like [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f] thanks to the [name_u]Percy[/name_u] [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] series, but I absolutely adore [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. In the end I would have a hard time choosing between them

I think I might have a pattern of getting names from movies and tv shows. :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks for the suggestions!

I’ll give it a go:

[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Callista[/name_f]
[name_f]Corrinna[/name_f]
[name_f]Odessa[/name_f]
[name_f]Laurel[/name_f]
[name_f]Camille[/name_f]
[name_f]Heidi[/name_f]

I love these type of names.
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f]
[name_u]Artemis[/name_u]
[name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f]
[name_f]Cleopatra[/name_f]
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Ginevra[/name_f]
[name_f]Isadora[/name_f]
[name_f]Magdalen[/name_f]
[name_f]Minerva[/name_f]
[name_f]Octavia[/name_f]
[name_f]Ottilie[/name_f]
[name_f]Viola[/name_f]

[SIZE=3]@faithnamer

[name_u]Juniper[/name_u] and [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] are on my list. I really love them.

I really like [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f], but sadly it’s my cousins name.

I like Nymphadora in a guilty pleasure kind of way because of Tonks. blush It’s not usable to me, but I’m drawn to it because of the character. Maybe [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] or [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] will grow on me.

I like [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] so much more than [name_f]Sarah[/name_f], but it’s not for me. It’s a sweet name with a great nickname potentials so I would love to see it used on someone else’s child.

[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] is one of my first names I love. I fell out of love with it because I thought it was too much of a name. I do still like it though.

I like [name_f]Callie[/name_f], but not [name_f]Calliope[/name_f]. The pee sound bothers me. I was thinking of maybe using [name_f]Callie[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], but it might be stretch.

Thank you!

@boyandgirl

I really love [name_f]Gwendolen[/name_f](I prefer this spelling) and [name_f]Camille[/name_f]! I can’t believe I didn’t think of them because they were on my old list.

Any spelling of [name_f]Corrinna[/name_f] reminds me of the movie [name_f]Corrina[/name_f], [name_f]Corrina[/name_f]. I love the movie, but not the name.

[name_f]Callista[/name_f] is another name where I love the nickname, but can’t stand the actually.

[name_f]Laurel[/name_f] is a perfectly lovely name, but not for me.

[name_f]Heidi[/name_f] is a nickname to me. It’s another name that I associate with movies. I always think of the [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] movies when I here it.
I just don’t like [name_f]Odessa[/name_f] which I find odd because I love [name_f]Odette[/name_f] and [name_f]Tessa[/name_f]. Similar sounds, but a no go to me.

@ani77 you have a couple of my favorites on your list!
I love [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] and [name_f]Magdalen[/name_f](and nearly all of it’s variants). I’ve also been warming up to [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] after someone I know online used it.

Thank you for the suggestions.[/SIZE]

Thank you everyone so far who gave suggestions!

I would love to get more suggestions!

One other to add to your list of suggestions:

[name_f]Ondine[/name_f]

Hillevi
[name_f]Elysia[/name_f]
Helalia
Ingvild
[name_f]Felicia[/name_f]
[name_f]Hedvig[/name_f]
[name_f]Sibel[/name_f]
Alvilde

Also wanted to add:
Aveline
Lucinda

@smiles1979

I kind of like the look of [name_f]Ondine[/name_f], but I’m not sure how to pronounce it.

This is at the top of our list, pronouncing it On-deen. Good luck!

I don’t like the pronunciation of [name_f]Ondine[/name_f] enough to add it my list.

I would love to hear more suggestions.

These are all stunning names, especially [name_f]Hannelore[/name_f] and [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f]. Maybe you’d like [name_f]Violetta[/name_f], [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f], Gwenaelle, Gweneira or [name_f]Marcella[/name_f]?

@cristinamariane
I like [name_f]Violet[/name_f], but I don’t like the -ta part of [name_f]Violetta[/name_f]. It changes the appeal of the name to me.

I like [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f], but not for myself.

I’ve always like the look of Gwenaelle, but could never figure out how to pronounce it. I found a pronunciation on Forvo, but I’m not sure if it’s correct. Gweneira is interesting, but I’m pretty sure I would butcher the pronunciation.

I just added [name_m]Marcellus[/name_m] to my list for boys! It’s one of my favorite name discoveries so far. I don’t like the feminine variant sadly.

I curious about the name [name_f]Tanith[/name_f] in your signature. [name_m]How[/name_m] is it pronounced?

[name_f]Tanith[/name_f] is a Phoenician goddess of love, fertility, moon and stars (in general the sky), worshiped in Carthage, prn. tan-ith like “with,” and also tahn-eet. There are a few current namesakes. Patron [name_m]Saint[/name_m] of Ibiza, I believe. [name_f]Tanis[/name_f] and Tanit can also be used.
Gwenaelle slowly is gwen-ah-elle, but in [name_f]France[/name_f] they say it quickly so it is more like [name_f]Gwen[/name_f]-isle.
Gweneira is prn. both gwen-eye-rah and gwen-ay-rah.
