Question for you mamas -
I had [name_f]Indie[/name_f] 6 months ago. Labour was fast & easy & I was up on my feet feeling fine the same day. I am only around 5 feet tall & normally weigh around 115 lbs. But now I’m still a solid 15lbs heavier than I was pre-pregnancy & am pretty puffy around my stomach area even when I exercise & monitor what I’m eating. I am nursing both my daughters but Azula is only once or twice per day & [name_f]Indira[/name_f] takes formula now when I go to work - pumping all the time with my little handheld just wasn’t paying off. I’m a server & work about 4 (around 6 hour) shifts a week & spend a lot of time on my feet. I haven’t had even one period yet since she was born (which I find super weird cause with Zu I got my period back pretty much right away) & I have been getting lots of cramps/lower abdominal pain & feeling nauseous randomly, which I don’t think is food-related. I have taken pregnancy tests periodically (just on case) & they always come up negative.
I have never packed around weight like this before (I know that might be sleep/stress related) & I’ve never had any issues before with food sensitivities or allergies or anything like that. I’m a little worried maybe something’s wrong because of this persistent bloat. Could something have healed wrong after delivery?
Is this normal? Should I be worried?
WDYT?
After my 2nd baby, I had stomach pains for months. I also had way heavier bleeding (rather than your lack of) that seemed to come and go. I actually asked my doctor about it, and he just said it was because [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] was my 2nd baby it would take longer for things too go back to normal. I didn’t get the chance to see if my body would indeed straighten out because by the time he was 6 months, I was pregnant again. I did definitely have some weird stomach pains and nausea for the 5 months that I wasn’t pregnant, though. I can’t recall it happening after #3 and 4, but I guess I’ll see if it happens after my new one is born.
Bring it up with your doc or midwife. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] all is well and please keep us posted.

I would check with your doctor/midwife about the cramping. As far as the weight I found the weight was a lot harder to loose the second time around.
[name_m]How[/name_m] are you doing, truenature? Have you gotten checked out yet?
Not yet, I’ve been working a ton & haven’t had time to go in to see my doctor. Honestly, I assume he’ll tell me its just normal after a second baby, especially cause my symptoms have been so vague (I mean being bloated 6 months after having a baby sounds just so normal).
The only really weird things is that I have found most days I get a wave of nausea usually around 6pm, whether or not I eat anything - regardless of whether I’m at work or not.
I doubt that would be a significant enough symptom to identify any specific problem though.
Ulcer maybe?
Anyway, I’m sure my doctor will be little help - I’ll probably still see him, but I’m thinking about going to see a naturopath too. Our medical doesn’t cover it right now so I’ll probably wait til DH is back at work because I think then they’ll pay a percentage.
