Abigail and Annabelle

Are [name]Abigail[/name] and [name]Annabelle[/name] to similar? I am really loving them both at the moment but they do seem to sound a lot alike. I am not concerned with the first initials being the same but I don’t want their names to feel to matchy. WDYT? If you think they are too similar which do you prefer and why?

Ehh, A tad close, but if they aren’t twins, it’s fine imo.

I like [name]Abigail[/name] a bit more, [name]Annabelle[/name] feels a bit trendy.

They feel far too close to me. It’s not just the A initial, it’s the prominent B sound and flow of the three syllable names and both ending in an L sound.

I like both. Choosing is hard. I would say [name]Abigail[/name] is the one I’ve liked since I was tiny, and has historic/Biblical weight but is incredibly popular now. [name]Annabelle[/name] (I prefer [name]Annabel[/name], btw) is less used but a bit sugary and that -belle ending is everywhere right now.

I think two A names can work, for example [name]Annabel[/name] and [name]Aurora[/name] or [name]Abigail[/name] and [name]Amity[/name], but I don’t think they work together, though both are nice.

I would choose, split the difference, [name]Abigail[/name] over [name]Annabelle[/name], and [name]Annabel[/name] over [name]Abigail[/name]. If that makes sense.

I think they’re a little close. I like [name]Abigail[/name] much more than [name]Annabelle[/name]. I think [name]Annabelle[/name] gets a ton of attention on here but [name]Abigail[/name] is so beautiful and has [name]Abby[/name] and [name]Gail[/name] are nicknames. I’ve met 2 in the last 3 years and they were both lovely, well behaved girls.

[name]Abigail[/name] is much more grounded with more history, I like it better. But [name]Annabelle[/name] is a perfectly nice name. I think they are close, not awfully close to the point of don’t do it, but I do think if you had a 3rd girl she would be the odd one out! So I’d stick to one for that reason more than anything else.

Thanks ladies! It probably is a little too close. I am not sure which I like better. They both have a lot of wonderful qualities.

For me personally they are too similar, but if you love them I think you could use both.

I prefer [name]Annabelle[/name], not really sure why! I have never been a huge fan of [name]Abigail[/name], but I do love the nickname [name]Abbie[/name]. [name]Annabelle[/name] is super pretty and is less common than [name]Abigail[/name].
