What are your opinions on [name]Abigail[/name]? Is it overused? Classic?

I think it is definitely a classic. I know girls named [name]Abigail[/name] of all ages. I know more Abigails around 20-30 than I do young ones so I really don’t see how it is that popular.

I’m going against the grain here but I really don’t like it and find it a really unattractive sound. Ironically, I really like [name]Abbie[/name].

Exactly why I am asking this! I love [name]Abbie[/name]…[name]Abigail[/name] not so much. It does sound a little harsh at the end. Let me ask y’all this: Would [name]Avalon[/name] NN Avvie (pn like [name]Abbie[/name]) be a good alternative? Because I love [name]Avalon[/name]!

I like [name]Abigail[/name]. I think it’s classic and I’ve only met one, but it’s not my favorite name. I love the nicknames though.

I like [name]Abigail[/name] a lot! It was my first favorite girls’ name ever. It feels very overdone and quite plain to me now, and I like the fuller [name]Abigail[/name] much more than the nn [name]Abby[/name], so I probably wouldn’t use it but I do still like it quite a bit.

[name]Avalon[/name] nn Avvie is cute! I also really like Avelaine (ah-veh-lane), [name]Aviana[/name], and Avonlea nn [name]Avi[/name] a lot. Have you considered one of the -belle names with the nn [name]Abby[/name]? [name]Isabelle[/name], [name]Mirabelle[/name], [name]Annabel[/name], [name]Arabella[/name], [name]Adabella[/name], Adorabella, Carabella, Miabella, etc., could all work to get the nn [name]Abby[/name]. Or even [name]Elisabeth[/name]/[name]Elizabeth[/name]…

I prefer Avonlea over [name]Avalon[/name] as a way to get to Avvie. It sounds more feminine to me.

I think [name]Abigail[/name] is a classic, however, I wouldn’t actually use it. I agree with a few other berries, that the [name]Gail[/name] ending is a little harsh for me. I love the nn [name]Abby[/name] though : )

Why not go with Avigael/Avigaelle/[name]Avigail[/name] to get the [name]Abbie[/name] and [name]Avalon[/name] sound?

Used to be at the top of my list and I still think it’s beautiful, but then somebody I don’t like named her daughter that so…it’s out, lol
