I’ve been really crushing on Abner lately, and could use some thoughts on him! What would you expect an Abner to be like? What do you think of the name in general? I’m really quite fond of Abner Leo or Abner Benjamin today, but maybe Abner Lionel or Abner Levi, too? I like that he means “father of light” and I think he goes well with the rarer Bible names on my list, like Boaz, Aquila, Bartholomew, Asa, Reuben, Barnabas, etc. Is the more Hebrew Avner more or less lovely?
[name_m]Abner[/name_m] is really cool! I imagine someone slightly studious, quietly confident and self-assured as well as friendly.
[name_m]Abner[/name_m] [name_u]Lionel[/name_u] and [name_m]Abner[/name_m] [name_u]Leo[/name_u] are lovely and I prefer [name_m]Abner[/name_m] to [name_m]Avner[/name_m]
Thanks everyone! I agree about [name_m]Abner[/name_m] vs. Avner… I love those Hebrew Vs but [name_m]Avner[/name_m] feels like a smoosh of [name_m]Avram[/name_m] and [name_m]Abner[/name_m] to me, and doesn’t have as much appeal as either of those! I’m glad you all like [name_m]Abner[/name_m] [name_u]Leo[/name_u], [name_m]Abner[/name_m] [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u], and [name_m]Abner[/name_m] [name_u]Lionel[/name_u]! I’m quite fond of all three, and I’m sort of wondering about [name_m]Abner[/name_m] [name_u]Leo[/name_u] [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u], which would honor my grandpa, as well as a couple other relatives.
@cactusgram - oh, no! I really, really am not keen on Abe… does an [name_m]Abner[/name_m] have to be an [name_m]Abe[/name_m]?
