Abraham Lincoln's Contemporaries

I just started reading the book Team of Rivals that inspired the film [name]Lincoln[/name], and in just the first chapter have come across some interesting names (well, I’ve also done some Google searches on the men mentioned in the book, so some of these names may have come from various websites…I’ve lost track…but all from that era). I’ve heard most of them before, but rarely see them. [name]Just[/name] wanted to share:

[name]Thurlow[/name]
[name]Montgomery[/name]
[name]Eldridge[/name]
Glyndon
[name]Portland[/name] (a middle name)
[name]Gamaliel[/name]
[name]Asa[/name]
[name]Sterling[/name]
[name]Fleming[/name]

I love [name]Asa[/name] and [name]Sterling[/name] for first names and the distinguished [name]Montgomery[/name] for a mn choice (I love actor [name]Montgomery[/name] [name]Clift[/name]). Thanks for sharing!

[name]Asa[/name] [name]Montgomery[/name] or [name]Sterling[/name] [name]Asa[/name]

Would be super handsome!! And a super breath of fresh air

I know a baby [name]Sterling[/name]

I’m another vote for [name]Asa[/name] making a comeback!

[name]Asa[/name] was ranked at number 554 in the US last year, and seems to be really popular in my region.

[name]Sterling[/name] has been in the top 1000 for a while, too, but it reminds me too much of the TV show [name]Archer[/name].

[name]Eldridge[/name] is a family name for my husband, and will most likely be the name of our first som, if we have one.

I like [name]Montgomery[/name].

I adore [name]Asa[/name]. Would never have the ladyballs to use it though.
