They remind me of [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name]. I know Abraxus was one of the Malfoys and for some reason I think Arcturus was a HP character too?

Yea they remind me of harry potter too! Regulus Arcturus [name]Black[/name] was [name]Sirius[/name] [name]Black[/name]'s brother, a reformed death eater! And I think [name]Abraxas[/name] was [name]Draco[/name] Malfoy’s grandfather!
They are a little too out there for me, as a first name, but I love the idea of Arcturus as a middle name, so I’m gonna vote for that!

[name]Abraxas[/name] - I like the nn Axis a lot actually. This gets my vote!
Asterion - ass tear, I vote no.
Arcturus - hard to pronounce, [name]Arc[/name] is kind of a cool nn though

When we picked out names we wanted a name that had a magical/wizard feeling to it (our extended list f.e. also included names like [name]Merlin[/name]).

In fact all three of these names have a “magical” background - so it would kind of make sense that J.K. Rowling would adapt them for her books. We however were never really interested in [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name]. I did watch the 1st and the 4th movie though… just did a little research and it seems like this [name]Abraxas[/name] Malfoy-person is only mentioned in one book - and only in one paragraph - so thats not a problem at all.

The death-eater thing however shocked me for a short moment  … but considering that it is only the character’s second name after all…it’ ok I guess …

I think [name]Abraxas[/name] is most useable because it can be shortened to Brax or even [name]Abe[/name]. I really like Brax.

I think Asterion and [name]Abraxas[/name] would be easiest to pronounce.

I love the name Astaire for a girl, so Asterion is a nice masculine alternative that I’ve never thought of. NN= [name]Ace[/name], [name]Rio[/name], [name]Ryan[/name], [name]Ion[/name], [name]Terry[/name]

[name]Abraxas[/name] isn’t as familiar sounding as Asterion but I can see it working. NN= [name]Abe[/name], [name]Axe[/name], Brax

  • I’m not into [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name] so I don’t recognize the names. I’ve only seen the movies when they were on TV because there was nothing better on

Although I like the sound of [name]Abraxas[/name], it was associated with some sort of demon in history. Therefore I wouldn’t use it.

I don’t really care for either of the others.

Sorry to say but I’m not a fan of any of your names. [name]Abraxas[/name] and Arcturus sound harsh and awkward and Asterion reminds me of the word “asteroid” so I don’t find the name very attractive either. All of these names may be hard to carry in [name]America[/name].

Abraxis is an American chemical company, and Asterion is an anatomical term.

I like Arcturus, nn’d [name]Arc[/name], a great deal. It got my vote.

I agree with [name]Mischa[/name] that these names might be a bit hard to carry in the US, especially with a last name 14 letters long. But if you’re okay with them being shortened then I think they could work. [name]Just[/name] be aware that they will look/sound rather complicated to American eyes/ears, in my opinion.

So, with that in mind, I’d pick [name]Abraxas[/name] as it has the natural nickname of [name]Abe[/name] or Brax. Good luck with your big move!
