I was trying to type [name]Freya[/name] into my phone and my phone changed [name]Frey[/name] to [name]Grey[/name], so I accidentally typed Greya. I was like “Whoa, that sounds sort of cool.” I just thought I’d ask what all of you berries think about it. So…
Greya? Cousin of [name]Freya[/name], sister of Grayer? Haha
Greya just might make an appearance since [name]Gray[/name]/[name]Grey[/name]/[name]Grayson[/name]/[name]Greyson[/name]/Gracen/Gracin are all becoming trendy. I can totally seeing it pop up as a “girl version” of the name.
I’m not a fan. It just looks like a phonetic respelling of the British/Australian pronunciation of “greyer/grayer” to me, and I like Grayer so much more on a boy. I can sort of see the appeal, but I like the whole [name]Grace[/name]/Gracja/[name]Graciela[/name] family on girls so much more. Or even [name]Grace[/name] [name]Freya[/name].
I think its gonna take some getting-used-to for me but I don’t think it’s too totally out there to be ruled out as a possible name. [name]Freya[/name] is not quite my style but I can see its appeal. Greya maybe an up-and-coming possibility since, as a pp mentioned, it goes with the “[name]Grey[/name]–” trend that is very “happening” right now.
Totally agree, and I think Greya is sooooo much better than any of the names listed above. My first thought was “Holy crap, I love that!” I wouldn’t even consider it a made up name in the usual sense, since I see [name]Grey[/name] as strictly male (I know it’s unisex, it just doesn’t seem feminine to me) and plenty of female names started this way.
I would rather see Greya on a girl then Graycyn or Gracin or [name]Grayson[/name] or Greylee, etc… I’m actually not minding [name]Gray[/name]/[name]Grey[/name] on a girl as much as I used to. (only for a middle though. )
Greyia is a beautiful African tree/shrub with lovely red flowers, you could use that
Grayia is also a shrub with pink, yellow or white flowers, commonly known as hop sage, but it doubles as African water snake so I would stick to Greyia ^^
[name]Edit[/name]: I really like Greyia/Graya. I forgot to say that!
It can totally work as a legitmate name, but I’m not really a fan of it. I prefer [name]Grey[/name]- names on boys because [name]Grey[/name] on a girl feels too depressing. I think it’s due to [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name]'s reference of the [name]Grey[/name] Lady who was murdered and became the ghost of Ravenclaw house. And there’s also Lady [name]Jane[/name] [name]Grey[/name].
