What are your thoughts on the name Adelena/Adalena? I love [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] but dislike how popular it has become. I had forgotten about it and settled on the name [name_f]Lena/name_f but just came across Adelena/Adalena and thought it would be a nice longer name for her. What do you think? Which spelling do you prefer? The Adelina spelling is out of the question for me because I want Lena spelled with an e. I think Adalena looks better because it avoids the double e but I looooove the nickname [name_f]Della[/name_f] and so I think I prefer Adelena. Would only use Della and Lena as nicknames (Addy is way too popular) Would love some thoughts. Thanks in advance!

I think you can spell it [name_f]Adelina[/name_f] and still use the spelling [name_f]Lena[/name_f] for the nickname. To be completely honest, I personally find Adelena and Adalena both to be fairly unattractive in how they look. However, if you are definitely against spelling it [name_f]Adelina[/name_f] for the full name and [name_f]Lena[/name_f] for the nickname, I would go with Adalena. It looks slightly more appealing to me since there aren’t two E’s (almost) right next to each other. You can for sure still use [name_f]Della[/name_f] as a nickname for Adalena. And for the last question, no, I don’t necessarily like Adalena more than just [name_f]Lena[/name_f]. I like them both about the same.
I naturally went to say Ay-da-lena (Adalena) versus Add-uh-lena (Adelena) - so slightly different pronunciations. Not sure if anyone else did/would?
Anyway, I’m not sure on this one but would probably go for Adelena so you can have Della and Lena - but I do think it’ll involve more spelling hassles for your kid than Adalena so maybe just do Adalena and expect that some like me might overstress the Ada!
Or just use one of them as the first name — Lena or Della - or even go for Adelaide (nn Della) or Helena or other (nn Lena).

I’d go with [name_f]Adelina[/name_f], personally, you can still nickname her [name_f]Lena[/name_f] or [name_f]Della[/name_f].
But if you don’t want [name_f]Adelina[/name_f], I think the most intuitive is Adalena, but I don’t think it really matters between the two since they’re both pretty unique. I love [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] nn [name_f]Della[/name_f]
