I’m putting aside my worries about Adalind and trying to pair it with a middle. I’ve gotten down to three that I like and would like to have some opinions.
Adalind [name_f]Rachel[/name_f]
Adalind [name_f]Noa[/name_f]
Adalind [name_f]Rhea[/name_f] -I would be using [name_u]Ray[/name_u]-uh instead of [name_f]Ree[/name_f]-uh. It’s my Grandmothers name, so I’m not interested in changing the spelling.
I like Adalind [name_f]Noa[/name_f] best, but appreciate honoring others with names so I’d go with Adalind [name_f]Rhea[/name_f] after your grandmother. Adalind is a nice change to [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] and [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f].
I like Adalind [name_f]Rhea[/name_f] best. “Adalind” kind of has an older, more classic feel to it, so pairing it with [name_f]Noa[/name_f] (and especially, [name_f]Rachel[/name_f]) sounds a little off to me. In terms of how they flow, though, all three could work.
Also, since [name_f]Rhea[/name_f] is your grandma’s name…all the more reason to use it! Adalind is pretty, by the way.
I’d go with Adalind [name_f]Rhea[/name_f] because of family significance. I think it is beautiful to pass down a family name. I pronounce [name_f]Rhea[/name_f] as [name_u]Ray[/name_u]-uh anyway so I really like the combo.
I don’t like how the nd- and the n- of Adalind [name_f]Noa[/name_f] flows. Adalind [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] is an amazing combo and has the best flow, but I think family significance counts more than flow.
Adalind [name_f]Rhea[/name_f] all the way! I love honoring family especially when the name is so unusual and beautiful! Also [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] just sounds a little out of sync w the style of Adalind.
I like Adalind [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] the best! I thought you were going to be asking for suggestions, and Adalind [name_f]Clara[/name_f] and Adalind [name_f]Olive[/name_f] popped into my head. I still really like them, but I wish I had thought of Adalind [name_f]Rachel[/name_f]! She makes me miss [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] on my own list.
Thank you everyone! I’m leaning towards Adalind [name_f]Rachel[/name_f]. I do like the family significance of [name_f]Rhea[/name_f], but I’m not sure if I could see myself using it because I don’t like it at all. I really wish my Grandma had a nicer name because I would love to honor her.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] your style BTW. I like Adalind [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] the most - just because [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] is so easy and common, while Adalind is so not. I really like Adalind [name_f]Rhea[/name_f] as well, and I like that it’s an honour name. If you don’t like [name_f]Rhea[/name_f], don’t use it. [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] sort of honours [name_f]Rhea[/name_f] - similar sound. What’s your grandmother’s MN? Maybe you could use that?
If you do not like [name_f]Rhea[/name_f] at all, you probably should not use it. I prefer Adalind [name_f]Rose[/name_f] but Adalind [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] sounds fine.
