Adalyn, Adalynn, Adalin

I really like how the name [name_f]Adalyn[/name_f] sounds but I’m not sure which way I like it spelled. Should I do [name_f]Adalynn[/name_f], [name_f]Adalyn[/name_f] or [name_f]Adalin[/name_f]? I was also thinking about [name_f]Adaline[/name_f] but I would pronounce it (add-uh-lynn) not (add-ah-line). Any other spelling suggestions are welcome!! Thanks!

[name_f]Adeline[/name_f]! I don’t think people will get confused about the add-uh-lyn pronunciation since this spelling is [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] without the M…it’s also the original spelling of the name, and to me the most attractive by miles.

PS Of the spellings you listed I like [name_f]Adalyn[/name_f] the most. I think the extra “n” is unnecessary and takes away from the name. And [name_f]Adalin[/name_f] just seems off.

Personally, I think [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] looks the best. [name_f]Adeline[/name_f], like [name_f]Madeline[/name_f], will get the pronounciation of [name_m]Ad[/name_m]-uh-lyn, [name_m]Ad[/name_m]-uh-line, or [name_m]Ad[/name_m]-uh-leen. If that bothers you, then I would go with [name_f]Adalyn[/name_f], but [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] looks much nicer.
People pronounce names differently, no matter how you spell it. So go with the spelling you like the best, because you can correct them really easily. I grew up with a name no one can pronounce, and [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] is worlds easier to pronounce. It isn’t like my name ([name_f]Eleni[/name_f]) which people won’t have any idea how to pronounce and it wouldn’t be worth correcting them. [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] is beautiful, I love it.

If you are pronouncing it add-uh-lynn, then [name_f]Adelyn[/name_f] makes the most sense. [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] would get a lot of add-uh-line. [name_f]Adalyn[/name_f] makes me want to say ay-duh-lyn (like [name_f]Ada[/name_f] + [name_u]Lyn[/name_u]).

I prefer [name_f]Adeline[/name_f]. [name_f]Adalyn[/name_f], [name_f]Adalynn[/name_f], and [name_f]Adalin[/name_f] seem off to me.

Thanks for the help! the name I originally fell in love with was adeline and but I didn’t like how it was pronounced. I think that it looks the better than all of the variations!

[name_f]Adelyn[/name_f] is by far the best spelling for the pronunciation you want.
