I much prefer [name]Adelaide[/name]. It’s been on my list for a while, and I think it’s simply gorge. I personally don’t love the -line names, but [name]Adeline[/name] is cute. And in terms of the city thing, I don’t think it’s that noticeable, and even if it is, I don’t think it matters too much. [name]Adelaide[/name] [name]Violet[/name] is super sweet.
I used to like [name]Adeline[/name], but I have seen it butchered SO much recently. ([name]Adelyn[/name], [name]Addalyn[/name]…shudder)
[name]Adelaide[/name] feels fresher for some reason. [name]Adelaide[/name] [name]Violet[/name] is nice.
I pronounced [name]Adeline[/name] “add-ah-lyn”.
I really dislike [name]Adeline[/name]/[name]Adalyn[/name] because it sounds like [name]Madeline[/name]/[name]Madelyn[/name] without the"m" and to me it just sounds goofy. [name]Love[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name] though! As for [name]Adelaide[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name] both being cities I think it’s fine. It’d be different if it were [name]Adelaide[/name] and [name]Sydney[/name] or [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Atlanta[/name], y’know?
[name]Adelaide[/name]! Mostly because I am a little biased since I live in [name]Adelaide[/name]; but I’d love to met an [name]Adelaide[/name] - from elsewhere!
It looks like [name]Adelaide[/name] is the resounding favorite, ha!
I was definitely worried that people would think of [name]Adeline[/name] as [name]Madeline[/name] without the m. (In the same way that people I know consider [name]Gemma[/name] just [name]Emma[/name] with a g) That, and I too dislike all of the spelling variations on [name]Adeline[/name].
As for what @baileystar and @googooixie said about the city thing-I’m glad you agree. I thought they were different enough and not super obvious, as one is a US city and the other is in Australia, but I wasn’t sure. Thank you!
@sodallas3 I am jealous. I’ve always wanted to visit Australia!
Thank you everyone for all of your help!
Never liked [name]Adelaide[/name]. Go for [name]Adeline[/name], cuz it’s an awesome name.

[name]Adeline[/name] for me. I do like [name]Adelaide[/name], but I would love [name]Adeline[/name] so much more. It’s so vintage and sweet, and it goes so well with [name]Clara[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Norah[/name], and [name]Emilia[/name]. I have to say, though–I would keep [name]Violet[/name] [name]Isabelle[/name]! [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Violet[/name] are both on my own top 10, but then again, neither is my top choice for a girl. I do think they could be sisters, though!
Good luck!
@ashthedreamer You are one of the rare people that like [name]Adeline[/name] over [name]Adelaide[/name]! I’m leaning more towards [name]Adelaide[/name] at the moment ([name]Adelaide[/name] [name]Violet[/name] seems to be the favorite on my poll) but I do love [name]Adeline[/name]. I’m usually not a big fan of the line names (although I do love [name]Caroline[/name]) but I love [name]Adeline[/name]. I love the vintage aspect of it,and it does go well my other names which are also very classic. Plus, I do love the song Sweet [name]Adeline[/name].
[name]Violet[/name] [name]Isabelle[/name] is still on the list! Maybe not in the top five, but it’s still up there. My tastes are still changing (I am only eighteen after all) and who knows? The similar t endings might not bother me that much after all. That, and perhaps the [name]Addie[/name] craze will die down by then, so my initial worries about all of the spelling variations won’t be an issue. We’ll have to see. :]
