I just saw [name]Adelei[/name] on FOR REAL [name]BABY[/name] NAMES (http://names4real.wordpress.com/) and I need to know if I’m crazy for loving it! Like a new version of [name]Lorelei[/name]? Honest opinions welcome!
To me, it seems like a short form of [name]Adelaide[/name].
Funny you should mention [name]Lorelei[/name], because that is on my favorite list, and I definitely think that [name]Adelei[/name] is very cute too, definitely a similar style of name.
I put this on my long list a few months ago. I [name]LOVE[/name] it as well as [name]Lorelei[/name]. Only problem is pronunciation.

I like every one of the above. Some more than others, but they are all so pretty. And I love nn [name]Ada[/name].
You know… I think I put it on my list spelled Adalei.
I read this as [name]Adlai[/name], the male name, like [name]Adlai[/name] [name]Stevenson[/name]. I always thought that [name]Adlai[/name] could be cute on a girl a la [name]Elliot[/name]…very feminine sounding. Adalei feels like a made-up/creative spelling version of [name]Adlai[/name]…like an attempt to feminize it a bit more. I know a male [name]Adlai[/name]- [name]Ad[/name]-lay is how I say it, I have heard people say it A-duh-lay…he’s never corrected me and I’ve never heard him correct them either, but if you’re going for either of those pronunciations I would consider the [name]Adlai[/name] spelling. If it’s A-duh-lie (rhymes w eye) maybe [name]Adelei[/name] is the way to go.
I adore it!!! [name]Lorelei[/name] and [name]Adeline[/name] are two of my favourite names in the world! I find it stunning!
You know what?? I love it!! I also like [name]Lorelei[/name] too, but I feel I haven’t any reason to claim that name 
And I love [name]Adelaide[/name], and [name]Adela[/name] too, but my dh doesn’t.
[name]Love[/name] that “lei” is an italian word for “she”. I think that is too feminine

It put me in mind of [name]Adlai[/name] [name]Stevenson[/name], too, when I saw it. Other than that, it looks to me like somebody started trying to write “[name]Adelaide[/name],” and then gave up.
I instantly thought of [name]Adlai[/name] [name]Stevenson[/name] too, I looked at the link and saw the babies full name is [name]Adelei[/name] [name]Twila[/name]…I know a [name]Twila[/name]! She’s probably 30 so the name seemed really unique and rare to me, maybe its becoming popular now?
