Aden?

Hey…

Does anyone out there like [name]Aden[/name] for a girl? I’m suddenly loving it, but what do you think? And how would you spell?

Thanks!

To me, [name]Aden[/name] is a boy name, regardless of how it is spelled ([name]Aidan[/name], [name]Aiden[/name], [name]Ayden[/name]). But I find that this type of name ([name]Brayden[/name], [name]Jaden[/name], [name]Hayden[/name]) is really over-used and tired, that putting it on a girl makes is worse. However, for some strange reason, I like [name]Auden[/name] on a girl.

Thank you! yes, I hate all those others ([name]Hayden[/name], [name]Brayden[/name], [name]Jayden[/name], too) but I feel like [name]Aden[/name] isn’t too much like the others.

I do like [name]Auden[/name], and also [name]Alden[/name] for a some reason.

[name]Grace[/name] is actually my favorite name (I have an [name]Elizabeth[/name]) but do you feel like you run into too many Graces?

I also love [name]Moira[/name]!

Not a fan at all, sorry. [name]Aden[/name], as in, [name]Aidan[/name], right? Better left for the boys, imo. I did know of a little girl with the name [name]Aiden[/name], but I can’t understand the appeal at all. I think [name]Eden[/name] is much prettier.

When I look at [name]Aden[/name], I see [name]Add[/name]-in, rhymes with [name]Madden[/name] as in football. Too close to the [name]Aidan[/name] trend [name]IMO[/name], and definitely not as nice as [name]Grace[/name] I only know 2 [name]Grace[/name]'s - one is 10, one is 5.

We actually haven’t met any other Graces. I always thought we would, especially at her preschool (it’s in a church), but nope. Plus, she goes by [name]Gracie[/name], [name]Gracie[/name] [name]Pat[/name], [name]Gray[/name], [name]Pat[/name], [name]Patsy[/name], etc. that if there were others, she could easily have her own spin on it.

I love [name]Grace[/name] and [name]Elizabeth[/name] together and if I heard you say that you children’s names were [name]Elizabeth[/name] and [name]Aden[/name], I would immediately assume [name]Aden[/name] was a boy.

I love [name_u]Aden[/name_u] as a girls name. I think you should’nt worry about anyone else’s opinion, unless you are leaning towards sage moon unit :), and go with what feels right for you. Our little girl will be [name_u]Aden[/name_u] [name_f]Kate[/name_f].

Honestly. I feel [name_u]Aiden[/name_u] on a girl livens up the name. I am not against unisex names on either gender or some boys’ names on girls. It is a baby name forum no no. Actually a crime to some. Out in the world I hear a lot of boys’ names on girls and unisex names on either gender. I also agree with jessig, you are not asking about a name that is way out there like [name_f]Moon[/name_f] Unit. You are also not questioning about a name that is unethical like Hitler. Would you, yourself, mind having the name [name_u]Aiden[/name_u]? Truthfully I am a shy, quiet person and I would find [name_u]Aiden[/name_u] fun and different. I would go with [name_u]Aiden[/name_u], [name_u]Ayden[/name_u], or [name_m]Aaden[/name_m].

Not a huge fan of the [name_u]Aiden[/name_u]/[name_u]Brayden[/name_u]/[name_u]Jayden[/name_u]/[name_u]Hayden[/name_u] names to begin with, so I would say no on [name_u]Aden[/name_u] for a girl. They are [name_m]WAY[/name_m] over done in my neck of the woods. I second the [name_u]Eden[/name_u] suggestion, and [name_u]Arden[/name_u] also has the same feel with out being the same name yet again.

I strongly prefer [name_u]Eden[/name_u].
