[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone! I’m planning on legally changing my name, but am stuck when it comes to what I want and I’m hoping for some help please! I’m female and technically have a unisex name, but is predominantly male these days. I’ve had issues getting doctor’s appointments, teasing at work, and even people refuse to go on a second date (I wouldn’t believe it either if I didn’t hear it!). [name_f]My[/name_f] middle name is much longer (4 syllables and about as traditionally feminine as you can get), which seems only to add to the confusion. I never really liked either of my names and would like to change both. I would ideally like something either more feminine or more truly unisex for my first name, but I also wouldn’t say that names like my middle name are truly my personality. I’m not a ‘tomboy’ per se but definitely not very feminine either…if that makes sense?
A little information on me:
**I’m in my mid-20’s, and 5’3”.
**I have 2 rescue dogs who are my life (and very possibly over-spoiled).
**My family is from [name_f]Scotland[/name_f] and [name_f]Ireland[/name_f], and I very much look it; SUPER dark, thick hair with hazel eyes and very pale skin with lots of freckles. I do love Gaelic names and am very proud of my heritage, so if that could be worked in, that would be amazing!
**I’m a huge nerd who loves reading and learning new things always.
**I’ve been through some pretty rough things in my life, and found humor and laughter to be the best remedy for almost everything, which is something that many people notice and comment on.
I’m sure that’s way more information than you wanted, but hopefully that helps. I’m exceptionally hard working and a very giving person by nature, so I just want people to see that first and foremost instead of my name - and honestly just have a name that I feel like reflects who I am.
