Hey 
I like the idea and style of the name [name_f]Agnes[/name_f], but the -gn- sound in the middle bothers me. Sadly, it seems to be an integral part of the name.
Has anyone found a workaround for [name_f]Agnes[/name_f]?

I speant some time mulling over [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] and her variations. My favourite “workaround” is to use the [name_m]French[/name_m] pronunciation which is something like AHN-yez. There are other variations as well:
[name_f]Anais[/name_f]
[name_f]Annice[/name_f]
[name_f]Annis[/name_f]
[name_f]Ines[/name_f]
[name_f]Inez[/name_f]
There’s also the Scottish [name_f]Senga[/name_f], which I don’t think retains the same feel, nor is it really a derivative, but people like to mention it because it’s [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] in reverse.

I would refrain from using [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] itself with [name_m]French[/name_m] pronunciation, because in our language, [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] is very well-known and the french version would never be expected and it would be a life of correcting people over something that appears to be a no-brainer. Won’t work well 
It’s not a variation, but if the GN in [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] is giving you pause, what about [name_f]Alice[/name_f]? It simply replaces that harsher sound with a soft L. I honestly love [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] as is though!
