Ahhhhh! actually naming a baby is kind of nerve racking?!

So like I’m pregnant! I’m not far enough to know the sex, but I will in about a week and a half, and then the fun starts. See the problem I’m having is deciding what to use for a girl name. I’m stuck. My boy name is completely already figured out so there’s that out of the way. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t you wish you could just pick the gender yourself? Because like I know I do, because then it’d be so easy. But in the case that it’s not, I don’t know what to name my bean. Okay so heres the deal:

I really like: [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_f]Vera[/name_f] [name_f]Ashleigh[/name_f], [name_f]Calla[/name_f] [name_f]Jade[/name_f], [name_f]Annika[/name_f] [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]( there is snow in the combo but im not using that in rl).

I also really am having a troubled time because I want to honor my sister that just passed away a year ago. I feel like this is something she knew I needed, ( yes I believe in all that stuff). You know all that jazz about that. I only have this picked out and like this: [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_f]Leona[/name_f]. [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] means princess, and so does my sisters name. My sister always made a big deal about that, and I’m really big into signs, and so isn’t my family. [name_f]Leona[/name_f] is the only L name I like, and my sister’s initials are S.L So I wanted the same initials and the fact that [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] and my sister’s name means the same. I’m just not 100% sold. Actually im just not sold on any thing. The only thing that i seem to connect with is [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] right now. Maybe that’s my hormones.

Is this hard for every other name nerd? Or am I just a weird namenerd?

The dad voted for [name_f]Vera[/name_f] [name_f]Ashleigh[/name_f], as well. He likes [name_f]Vera[/name_f], but the middle name is after his sister who I do love and treat like my own sister. I always wanted a little sister. So she became that to me.

That’s about it. Thoughts? Comments? Advice?

I think it’s great that you want to honor your sister, but trying to find a name that both matches the meaning of hers AND starts with the same letter seems really limiting. I’d focus on the meaning instead.

Also, I would relax a little. I know it’s exciting and nerve-racking to try to name an actual human, but you do have some time. Plus, you could change your mind between now and the birth

If you want to honour our sister, I would suggest deciding whether you want to use her initials or the meaning. Limiting yourself to S names meaning princess gives very few options, so it would be hard to love any of them.
Try not to stress over it too much, you have a lot of time. Besides, you may soon find out that you don’t even need a girls name! I wish you the best of luck.

I love how you want to honour your sister, there are other names still meaning princess but without the letter S if you just wanted meaning.
