When I hear the name [name]Alaina[/name] I think of a beautiful, feminine, elegant lady.
I went to school with an [name]Alaina[/name]! She’s quiet, smart, and very gracious but not a knockout and doesn’t have a BAM personality. Very reserved, but yes, elegant for sure.
It just feels like a modern revamp of [name]Elaine[/name] to me. It’s okay, a bit flat.
I knew of an [name]Alaina[/name] (spelled the same) who was quiet and blushed very easily. She was very fair-skinned, blond, quiet. Old-fashioned, classic sort of beauty, kind of whimsical.
To me, it’s very blendy. It’s a lot like many other names like [name]Aleah[/name], [name]Alana[/name], [name]Alexa[/name], [name]Alicia[/name], [name]Alina[/name], [name]Alaia[/name], [name]Alyssa[/name], [name]Allegra[/name], etc. I feel very neutral about it.
I got a different feeling from homophone [name]Elena[/name], which I find really classic and beautiful.
It’s sort of plain to me so I have no associations. It’s a name that any girl might make suit her.
I also like [name]Elena[/name], but [name]Alain[/name] is a family name which is why were are considering [name]Alaina[/name]. 
Otherwise [name]Elena[/name] would be on my list. Actually, I do have [name]Helena[/name] on my list as well.
Thanks for the votes! We are ttc and [name]Alaina[/name] is a family name for us, and it has been one of our top contenders for years, along with [name]Elowen[/name], [name]Rowan[/name] and a few others. Would love to get more votes/opinions! 
I think of my cousin - who is [name]Elaina[/name]. She’s a very tall, thin, beautiful girl whose very quiet and extremely smart and studious.
We gave our daughter the middle name [name]Alana[/name], pronounced like [name]Alaina[/name], and I still love it. Had a friend of the same name, and my husband’s middle name is [name]Alan[/name].
I love this name, but only when spelled [name]Elena[/name]. I think its an elegant, beautiful, timeless classic.
It’s kind of blah to me, but it’s definitely VERY feminine.
