We are pregnant with our second child, a baby boy, who will be brother to our daughter [name_f]Freya[/name_f]. We have narrowed down our choices to two names, [name_m]Alastair[/name_m] or [name_m]Anders[/name_m], both will be honouring my husband’s grandfather who was an [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] ([name_m]Alastair[/name_m] is a Scottish variant, and [name_m]Anders[/name_m] takes the last five letters of [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], but pronounced ON-Ders). [name_m]Can[/name_m] you help us decide between the two? Also, for the middle spot we want to honour a [name_m]William[/name_m] and a maiden name [name_m]Wolfe[/name_m]. We were thinking of possible middle name combos like [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_m]Wolfgang[/name_m] or [name_m]Wolfgang[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] or [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_m]Wolfe[/name_m]. I love both [name_m]Alastair[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_m]Wolfe[/name_m] and [name_m]Anders[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_m]Wolfe[/name_m] as combos! I prefer [name_m]Alastair[/name_m] as a FN, though, although both are nice.

It was very hard for me to choose! [name_m]Anders[/name_m] and [name_f]Freya[/name_f] seem like the best match, as they both very common Scandinavian names and therefore stylistically seem more like a set to me. But, I voted for [name_m]Alistair[/name_m]. It’s just such a strong and handsome name. I also am not personally a huge fan of [name_m]Anders[/name_m] - the sound is just akward to me, sorry!
Alistair [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_m]Wolfe[/name_m] would be my top pick for you, but [name_m]Anders[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_m]Wolfe[/name_m] could also be a good option.

Lovely names. [name_m]Alastair[/name_m] and [name_f]Freya[/name_f] work well as do [name_m]Anders[/name_m] and [name_f]Freya[/name_f].
Somehow [name_m]Alistair[/name_m] sounds more buttoned down than [name_f]Freya[/name_f] and [name_m]Anders[/name_m] so I’d probably go with the latter as both [name_f]Freya[/name_f] and [name_m]Anders[/name_m] have a nice wild feel to them.
What about [name_m]Anders[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_m]Wolfhart[/name_m]? Or [name_m]Anders[/name_m] [name_m]Wilkie[/name_m] [name_m]Wolfhart[/name_m]?

I voted [name_m]Alistair[/name_m] but I maybe should have voted [name_m]Anders[/name_m]?! I can’t really choose.
They both work really well with [name_f]Freya[/name_f].
However, I think I prefer [name_m]Anders[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_m]Wolfe[/name_m] to [name_m]Alistair[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_m]Wolfe[/name_m].

Thank you all for voting and giving suggestions and comments, especially with some creative middle name options for us! We prefer the [name_m]Alastair[/name_m] spelling for that name, is this the typical spelling? I noticed some of you spell it [name_m]Alistair[/name_m], but I like the look of [name_m]Alastair[/name_m] better.
Alastair is so handsome! I voted for it without a second thought. I also prefer the look of [name_m]Alastair[/name_m] over [name_m]Alistair[/name_m] (I love [name_m]Alasdair[/name_m] even more, but that’s a whole other name conversation!).
[name_m]Anders[/name_m] has the Scandinavian connection to [name_f]Freya[/name_f] that would usually sway me into voting for it since I’m a sucker for a subtle theme, but in the end it seems like nothing can interfere with my love for [name_m]Alastair[/name_m]!
