Albie

WDYT of either [name_m]Albion[/name_m] or [name_m]Alban[/name_m], nn [name_m]Albie[/name_m], or [name_m]Albie[/name_m] as a standalone name? I’m not sure where I picked it up from but it’s been on my mind lately and it feels like it fits the other boy names I’m fond of.

[name_f]Love[/name_f] love love [name_m]Alban[/name_m], and I never see him anywhere! [name_m]Albion[/name_m] is also great. I prefer [name_m]Albie[/name_m] as a nickname, but it’s fairly common as a full name in the UK (#32). Strangely, I prefer the [name_m]Alby[/name_m] spelling if used in full and [name_m]Albie[/name_m] as a nickname.

I don’t love either [name_m]Albion[/name_m] or [name_m]Alban[/name_m] but I love just [name_m]Albie[/name_m] as a standalone!

I’ve never heard of [name_m]Albion[/name_m] or [name_m]Alban[/name_m] before and I really like them with the nickname [name_m]Albie[/name_m]! I’ve always thought of [name_m]Albie[/name_m] as a nickname for [name_m]Albert[/name_m] so it’s nice to hear another option

I personally would do [name_m]Albion[/name_m] or [name_m]Alban[/name_m] with the nickname [name_m]Albie[/name_m] because it gives more options for what he wants to go by as he grows up

I also see [name_m]Albie[/name_m] as too youthful of a name to be stand alone for my own personal taste but I also think if he’s just [name_m]Albie[/name_m] people may assume he’s [name_m]Albert[/name_m] nicknamed [name_m]Albie[/name_m]

Plus if you love [name_m]Albion[/name_m] or [name_m]Alban[/name_m] equally to [name_m]Albie[/name_m] then I see it as a compromise so you’re really only losing one name you love rather than 2!

I love [name_m]Albie[/name_m]! I would like it used as a standalone as I’m usually of the mindset that I want to name my child what they will be called but as @chesia commented, it may be too youthful sounding on its own. Not sure but would depend on what you are comfortable with.

I know [name_f]Albany[/name_f] is a well known city in many states, so variations are very useable. I would jut be careful because of albino and negative connotations.

[name_m]Albion[/name_m] “Albi” is my roommate’s cat’s name, and I adore it!

He chose the name after [name_m]King[/name_m] Arthur’s land (modern day Britain) in celtic legend, which was called [name_m]Albion[/name_m]. I’ve always thought it was a really cool connection!

I love Arthurian legend so this connection is awesome. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I prefer [name_m]Albion[/name_m]! [name_m]Alban[/name_m] works too. I like [name_m]Albie[/name_m] as a nickname, but I would probably opt for a sturdier full name in this case.

I usually don’t adore nickname names, but [name_m]Albie[/name_m] can definitely stand on its own. I like [name_m]Albie[/name_m] as a full name! I also like the spelling [name_m]Alby[/name_m]. From my point or view, [name_m]Albie[/name_m] is gentle, charming and amiable. [name_m]Albie[/name_m] sounds musical/poetic. It’s an handsome name!
I’m not crazy about [name_m]Alban[/name_m], but [name_m]Albion[/name_m] is interesting!
