Alexandra is here

Thank you! [name_f]My[/name_f] pregnancy with her wasn’t easy at all. It felt like whatever could happen did happen. A week before I had her or the weekend before I had her I was watching a show with a female character name [name_u]Alex[/name_u] and I said thats her name lol. Then she came rather suddenly at 38+4 weeks and i asked my husband what she looked like when she was born and his response was [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] [name_u]Jade[/name_u]? And I looked at her and said yes.

So a little about the pregnancy and birth

I found out we were pregnant on St. Patrick’s [name_u]Day[/name_u]. [name_f]My[/name_f] oldest daughter thought that I conceived via a leprechaun lol. Anyways at 12 weeks pregnant I started bleeding. A few days later I found out I had a subchorionic hematoma and I was put on pelvic rest until my anatomy scan. I had decided that if she made it I wanted to give her a strong name that represented the journey we were on. Originally I was between [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f], [name_f]Veronica[/name_f], [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], [name_f]Antonia[/name_f] and [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] because to me they were all strong names. Later in the pregnancy I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and then found out she was breech. She stayed that way until 37 weeks. Then I also found out that she had a marginal umbilical cord which we needed to be careful with. As we got closer to the birth i kept getting contractions and a pain in my pelvis and butt. For days and even weeks i had it. At 38 weeks i was between 2 and 3cm dilated, still high and somewhat thinned out. Then over the weekend I continued to contract. On monday Nov 14th I lost my mucus plug and bloody show. Then between 2:30-3pm my pain started getting worse. Finally about 4ish we contacted my mil to see if she could watch our older 3 because I was in so much pain and discomfort that I was doubled over and in tears. [name_f]My[/name_f] mil took one look at me and said “You’re having the baby tonight”. Well we get to the hospital and I get checked out about 5:15-5:30pm and find out I’m 8cm dilated and 100% effaced. I was shocked. So they admit us around 6pm. Call my ob who is on call and she comes in. I find out my discomfort is caused by my water sack or whatever you want to call it trying to exit my body instead of popping. So she was trying to see if it would pop on its own and it wouldn’t. So she popped it. Then we waited for a few of my contractions to go by and finally i definitely feel like I have to push and it took me 1 super long, huge push and she was here. It happened so fast that she had bruises and swelling. And no tearing on my end. She was born at 7:12pm on 11/14/2022. After the journey we had she definitely fits her name and we couldn’t be happier for her to be here. If you read all of this thank you. I can’t believe shes 5 weeks old already.
