Aliceanna?

I was driving around [name]Baltimore[/name] the other day and there’s a road named “Aliceanna.” People pronounce it just like “[name]Alice[/name]” and “[name]Anna[/name]” together. I kind of like it, probably more as a middle name. I can see it as an alternative to the overused [name]Alexandra[/name]. What do you think of it?

I think its looks and sounds better as two separate names.

I like it, but agree that it should be written: [name]Alice[/name] [name]Anna[/name] or [name]Alice[/name] [name]Ann[/name]/e. It makes a very pretty double barrelled alternative to [name]Mary[/name] [name]Kate[/name] or [name]Mary[/name] [name]Alice[/name]. Come to think of it, I like [name]Alice[/name] [name]Kate[/name] or [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Kate[/name] as well!

I came across that name because of the street also, and i think it’s really cute. Personally, I like it together more than separately.

I think I prefer it slightly better as [name]Alice[/name]-[name]Anna[/name] over Aliceanna. I think the dash helps people to know it’s a double barrel name as opposed to first and middle. But if you prefer it together, it’s not bad. It sounds pretty enough.

Ha - I live just a few blocks north of Aliceanna in [name]Baltimore[/name]. I’ve actually heard it pronounced 2 ways: [name]Alice[/name]-[name]Anna[/name] (this is how I pronounce it) And a-LIS-ee-ah-na. My neighbor mentioned a long time ago that she planned to use it if she ever had a daughter. Guess there will be a batch of [name]Baltimore[/name]-based Aliceannas running around sooner or later.

As a name, I see the appeal - it has a pretty sound - but its not my style. I’m in a bit of rebellion against the add-on [name]Bella[/name]/[name]Anna[/name] names that I hear so much of. At this point, I’d so much rather meet a [name]Julie[/name] or [name]Julia[/name] than a [name]Juliana[/name]/[name]Julianna[/name], you know? [name]Anne[/name] rather than [name]Annabelle[/name]. And [name]Alice[/name] over Aliceanna. I’m a keep it simple type, I suppose.

Wow, there are a lot of us who live near that street!

I love how it sounds but I would make it [name]Alice[/name] [name]Anna[/name] (first and middle).

Personally, I really like it. And I like the name all together, not separated. I’m a fan of other names that are a combinations of two simpler ones, such as [name]Rosemary[/name] and [name]Annemarie[/name]. I say, go for it!

Thanks, all! The pronunciation is a bit tricky, and while I prefer it as one name because of the flow, I do see how it can sound more floral like you point out, dizzy. But I’m happy to see I’m not alone in liking it!

Very pretty!

I think the pronunciation is not immediately obvious, and I agree that it would look better as [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Anna[/name_f] or [name_f]Alice[/name_f]-[name_f]Anna[/name_f]. Or maybe spelled as Alisanna, something that looks like a single name rather than a smoosh.
