Alilia

I just had a client at work with the name Alilia. I have never heard it but it’s so beautiful to hear! [name_m]Ah[/name_m]-leel-ee-ah is how she said it. What do you think?

I honestly thinks it looks a little ridiculous written down( 2 a’s, 2 l’s, 2 i’s).

And I find it a bit tricky to pronounce. I think I’d prefer just [name_f]Lilia[/name_f].

I actually like it. It feels rather exotic and definitely unusual, and I like all the soft sounds. I think people would catch on in time, although I think, on the onset, [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] or [name_f]Alila[/name_f] (or even just [name_f]Lila[/name_f]) would be easier to live with. I do think Alilia looks gorgeous and I’d love to meet one, though! So many great nicknames, too. I’m a fan of the unheard of [name_f]Alila[/name_f] and Elila, but I might like Alilia even more? Have you been able to find any information on it? I wonder what its history, as a name, is. Nationality, meaning, usage, etc.

I have only found it listed but no meanings. I saw a few people comment that they used the name but no origin, etc.

I think it sounds beautiful and I think the spelling makes sense. I’ve discovered that even with a pretty straight forward name, people will spell it wrong. I definitely wouldn’t base your choice off of potential spelling issues.

It’s pretty, but seems difficult to pronounce. I really have to think about what I’m saying as I pronounce it.

It almost seems like it would be a feminization of Ailill. I’d prefer just [name_f]Lilia[/name_f].

I like the sound of Alilia, but I feel like there are too many similar-sounding, more common names that it would be getting mixed up with. “[name_f]Aaliyah[/name_f]?” “No, Alilia.” “[name_f]Lilia[/name_f]?” “Alilia.” And there’s [name_f]Alina[/name_f], [name_u]Allie[/name_u], etc.

I’ve never heard of this name before, but it sounds so pretty! It took me a while to figure out how to say it though, so I’d recommend something simpler. I’m guessing a lot of people would pronounce it ah-lee-lee-uh, which, while pretty and similar, isn’t nearly as nice as ah-leel-ee-uh.

It’s so interesting to hear people talking about you and they don’t even know you. Haha. I know I am late to this conversation, but I’m still searching for the origin and meaning of my name, so I stumbled on this page.
