Ok, so who was i kidding to think we had names set in stone!?!? lol We’re like 95% sure on the names we have chosen so we’ll still be exploring more options. The more I say the name [name]Alistair[/name] the more I [name]LOVE[/name] it as a first name. My husband on the other hand likes [name]Alistair[/name] as a middle but, prefers [name]Alister[/name] as a first name. I like [name]Alister[/name] as well but, I feel like [name]Alistair[/name] has a nicer sound. However, my biggest hesitation with the name is that we make it a point to name all our children starting with a different letter and we already have an [name]Annabel[/name]. Is [name]Annabel[/name] and [name]Alistair[/name]/[name]Alister[/name] too close? they sound very similar to me.
I prefer [name]Alistair[/name] to [name]Alister[/name] (which, I say the same way, for what it’s worth…). I think [name]Alistair[/name] looks cleaner cut. I like [name]Alistair[/name] with [name]Carlos[/name], [name]Mia[/name], [name]Xavier[/name], and [name]Annabel[/name], although it has a decidedly less Latin flair than your other children’s names have, but since [name]Elodie[/name] is French, I’m not sure that really matters.
I like [name]Alistair[/name] [name]Remy[/name] almost as much as I like [name]Remy[/name] [name]Alistair[/name]. Also, I don’t think [name]Annabel[/name] and [name]Alistair[/name] are too close at all. The only thing they really share in common is the first initial…
Good luck!
I pronounce them like they look and personally, i like Alastor better (which is just the Greek spelling). So I guess i like [name]Alister[/name] better but that spelling looks weird to me for some reason.
I also don’t think that [name]Alistair[/name]/[name]Alister[/name] and [name]Anabel[/name] sound too similar to be siblings. They sound fine together.
The only problem I have with that spelling is that I feel like everyone will butcher it. I’m sure they will butcher [name]Alister[/name] as well but, I think its the more common spelling in the US? I have yet to see my daughter [name]Annabel[/name]'s name spelled correctly lol. Believe it or not the most common spelling I get for her is [name]Anabelle[/name]. Ok, sorry to get side tracked but, I’m starting to love [name]Alister[/name]/[name]Alistair[/name] as much as I love [name]Remy[/name] so it may be a compromise I’m willing to make. Still not sure though… What nicknames can be used for [name]Alister[/name]? I think we would try to use the full first name as much as possible but, would the nn [name]Alex[/name] be too far off?
I usually try to keep a Latin influence in my kids names somewhere being that we started off with a [name]Carlos[/name]. Thats why I’m using [name]Sofia[/name] as a middle for a girl. I feel like I SHOULD be using a more Latin middle name for a boy as well. The problem is I’m in love with this name and I dont want to use anything else lol. My husband’s name is [name]Christian[/name] so that was an option as a middle as well. Maybe [name]Alister[/name] [name]Christian[/name] to try to incorporate a little more of the same feel?
