All about... Cassie!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]!

[name_f][/name_f]

some questions all about the name [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] for a girl…

[name_f][/name_f]
    [name_f][/name_f]
  • For spelling: do you prefer [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] or [name_f]Kassie[/name_f]?
  • [name_f][/name_f]
  • What can Cassie/Kassie be short for? I’m not personally crazy about [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f], so looking for any alternatives – are there others beyond [name_f]Cassidy[/name_f] etc? Does [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] or [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] work?
  • [name_f][/name_f]
  • What feels more “classic” [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] or [name_f]Cassidy[/name_f]?
  • [name_f][/name_f]
  • Any general thoughts welcome – thank you!!!
  • [name_f][/name_f]

I like Cassie. I prefer the C spelling… just for how it looks I guess, I almost always prefer C spellings.

I’ve always thought Catherine would work. I also like Cassie short for:
Cassia
Cassiopeia
Callista
Cassiana
Catherina
Carissa

Just Cassie feels more classic to me (where I’m from, Cassidy was a common/trendy girl name about 20 years ago, so I know of multiple in my age group and none any older or younger)

Well I am a little biased as I have a lovely sister named [name_f]Cassie[/name_f]. It’s her full name, sort of. Her full name is hyphenated/a double barrel, think along the lines of Cassie-Rose.
[name_f][/name_f]I think the K spelling makes [name_f]Kassie[/name_f] more modern, if that holds any advantage or disadvantage for you.
[name_f][/name_f]Cassie/Kassie could be short for [name_f]Cassiana[/name_f], [name_f]Cassia[/name_f], [name_f]Casiphia[/name_f], [name_f]Keziah[/name_f], [name_f]Lucasta[/name_f] or perhaps even [name_f]Cressida[/name_f]? I think Catherine/Katherine would be a bit confusing because they have such well known nn’s, but I’m all for a bit of name creativity! Christina/ [name_f]Kristina[/name_f]?
[name_f][/name_f]To me, [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] is more classic than [name_f]Cassidy[/name_f].

I really love the name [name_f]Cassie[/name_f]! It’s my aunt’s name and I find it very fun.

[name_f][/name_f]

Definitely prefer [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] to [name_f]Kassie[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] aunt is actually [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] but goes by [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] 90% of the time. For a different vibe, I like [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] or even [name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f]. Though I think [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] works well as a full name.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Cassie[/name_f] feels more classic than [name_f]Cassidy[/name_f] (which has more of a [name_f]Shelby[/name_f], [name_m]Morgan[/name_m], [name_f]Aubrey[/name_f] vibe to me).

I read a book as a kid with a [name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f] “Cassie” and I’ve liked it ever since. I’m partial to C names, so I the C spelling. I think [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] is very pretty too.

I prefer [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] because a K spelling just makes me think the name is made up or Kardashian.

[name_f][/name_f]

What can Cassie/Kassie be short for? Carissa/Clarissa, [name_f]Cassia[/name_f], [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f], [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], [name_f]Jocasta[/name_f], [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] (could be a stretch), [name_f]Carys[/name_f] (Welsh name), [name_f]Callista[/name_f], [name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f].

[name_f][/name_f]

(Personally, I love [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] because of the nature meaning but also [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] because it’s just so adorable and I think [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] is a cute less common nickname for [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] specifically!)

[name_f][/name_f]

What feels more “classic” [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] or [name_f]Cassidy[/name_f]? [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] feels classic in the sense that’s it’s a timeless beauty, [name_f]Cassidy[/name_f] feels “classic” in the sense it gives me 90s Cheerleader in American movies kinda energy

For spelling: do you prefer [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] or [name_f]Kassie[/name_f]?

[name_f][/name_f]

I prefer [name_f]Cassie[/name_f]! I don’t dislike [name_f]Kassie[/name_f], I just like the rounded look of [name_f]Cassie[/name_f]!

[name_f][/name_f]

What can Cassie/Kassie be short for? Does [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] or [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] work?

[name_f][/name_f]

I think [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] could work with an ‘S’ middle maybe? Like [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Selena[/name_f], [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] or [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] etc. But I think you’d have to be prepared that it might not ‘stick’?

[name_f][/name_f]

Some others I like [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] for are…

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Cassia[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Carys[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Clarice[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Clarissa[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Calista[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Constance[/name_f]

[name_f][/name_f]

What feels more “classic” [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] or [name_f]Cassidy[/name_f]?

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Cassie[/name_f] feels more ‘classic’ to me. And stats wise, [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] was being used as a given name when records were first made in the US in 1880. [name_f]Cassidy[/name_f] doesn’t appear until 1969 when it was first given to 5 girls

[name_f][/name_f]

Any general thoughts welcome

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Cassie[/name_f] is sweet but sassy and I like it as a stand-alone!

As someone with name easily mistaken for [name_f]Cassie[/name_f], just be aware that it will probably be mistaken for similar sounding name.

[name_f][/name_f]

I prefer [name_f]Cassie[/name_f], [name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f] comes to mind first, I wouldn’t think of it as short for [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]. [name_f]Cassidy[/name_f] feels more classic.

spelling[name_f][/name_f]: [name_f]Cassie[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f]short for:[name_f][/name_f] [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] is my favourite full name for [name_f]Cassie[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Cassie[/name_f] feels more classic, I absolutely adore [name_f]Cassie[/name_f]

I don’t love the name [name_f]Cassie[/name_f]. It and [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] give me the shivers. But if I had to use it, it would be [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] with a C, probably short for [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] or Cassiane; [name_f]Calista[/name_f] at a stretch. [name_f]Cassiane[/name_f] is the prettiest to my ear.

[name_f]Cassie[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]My[/name_f] favorite is [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f] but I think [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] could work really well with an s middle name.
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Cassie[/name_f] feels more classic to me as [name_f]Cassidy[/name_f] just seems more modern.

For me [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] feels a little dated, it was most popular in the US in the 80’s and i know a lot of Cassie/Kasey/Carries from that age group. However thats a regional thing and may not be relevant where you are. (And really there’s nothing wrong with a dated name!)

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Cassandra[/name_f] would be my favorite long form. Others id consider would be Kassiani/Cassiane & [name_f]Keziah[/name_f],

I prefer [name_f]Cassie[/name_f]. I, too, am not crazy about [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f], and actually considered [name_f]Cassidy[/name_f] “Cassie” for my daughter. I really like it!

[name_f][/name_f]

Catherine/Katherine is a stretch, but I suppose if the middle name (or surname) begins with S then it works. [name_f]Cassia[/name_f], [name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f] (but very extravagant!) and [name_f]Callista[/name_f] (although [name_f]Callie[/name_f] is the usual go-to, [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] works too) possibly…

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Cassie[/name_f] is more classic than [name_f]Cassidy[/name_f], but overall I don’t consider [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] as a classic name.

I love Cassie/Kassie! The only possible full name that came to mind that hasn’t been said is [name_f]Cressida[/name_f]. I’ve always thought [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] is a great, unique name but [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] makes it more accessible if your daughter doesn’t happen to be a namenerd lol

I love [name_f]Cassie[/name_f], best with a C. [name_f][/name_f] I feel it is an obvious nickname for [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f], [name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f] …I suppose any name beginning with [name_m]Cas[/name_m]. [name_f][/name_f] That begin said, I believe it was also used as an old time nickname for [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]. [name_f][/name_f] I’ve known quite a few Catherines who go by [name_f]Cassie[/name_f].

I like [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] with a C. And my favorite long version is definitely [name_f]Cassia[/name_f]. I think it’s a beautiful name! Good lyck
