WDYT of [name_m]Franz[/name_m]? I was editing my list when it popped into my head. I’m starting to really like it, especially the Swiss Family [name_m]Robinson[/name_m] literary connection.

I like it. I also like [name_m]Fritz[/name_m].
I think its cool. It makes me think of [name_f]France[/name_f] and [name_m]Franz[/name_m] Liszt.
Best franz forever. [name_m]Franz[/name_m] [name_m]Ferdinand[/name_m]. It’s like [name_m]Hans[/name_m] for me in that it feels a bit goofy in English.
I like [name_m]Franz[/name_m]
I was pretty old when my mum told me my great great grandfather was named Frants [name_m]Wilhelm[/name_m], I’ve sort of had an ‘on-again/off-again’ relationship with [name_m]Franz[/name_m] ever since. I like it, but I’m not sure I would use it. And [name_m]Franz[/name_m] is my preferred spelling, the simplest and coolest [name_f]IMO[/name_f].
I like it: it has an element of jazzy cool, is easy to say and spell and the ‘z’ adds a nice zip, making it a more current version of [name_m]Frank[/name_m] (which I adore). There is the [name_m]Franz[/name_m] [name_m]Ferdinand[/name_m] connection, but that isn’t anywhere near as bad as the [name_m]Otto[/name_m] van Bismarck connection with [name_m]Otto[/name_m], and that is still a great name.
I like it. Franz fits right in with the current international popularity of Francis/ Frances and the pope. It also retains it’s own, more interesting, image from these classics. I would categorize Franz as “classic with a twist.” It also sounds just a weensy bit more masculine to my ears than the soft Francis.
I like [name_m]Fritz[/name_m] even better!
I also like Frank. Why doesn’t our generation appreciate this name? It reminds me of Frank Sinatra.
I never really thought of it until now. [name_m]Franz[/name_m] feels quirky and cool. Makes me think of [name_m]Franz[/name_m] [name_m]Ferdinand[/name_m].
