All time favorite name?

I have always loved [name_f]Anna[/name_f].

Also - although it’s a completely different style - I care across [name_u]Hero[/name_u] for a girl when studying Much [name_f]Ado[/name_f] at school and I’ve adored it ever since, even though the character’s a bit of a wet fish.

For boys, [name_u]Max[/name_u] (married one!) and [name_m]Leo[/name_m] (too popular).

None of my favorites ATM have been on my list for very long compared to how long I’ve been into names. However, there are some others I absolutely adore that have been on my list a long time.

[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] - Never was my absolute fav but I’ve always liked her a lot.
[name_f]Seraphine[/name_f] / [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] - #1 name for years
[name_f]Iris[/name_f] - The combo I had for years was [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f]!
[name_f]Juliette[/name_f] - Was my favorite after that for years
[name_f]Calista[/name_f] / [name_f]Callista[/name_f] - This was my former #1 favorite but [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] & [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] (I rotate on which is my favorite) replaced her in 2017.
Esmée - same as [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]!

Yes I do [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_u]Kelsey[/name_u] and [name_f]Alana[/name_f] are three names I have always loved.

The name that I loved when I was young- probably about six years old- was [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. Not my favourite anymore but definitely still on my list. Others I have also loved for a long time for girls that are still on my list are [name_f]Linnea[/name_f] (great great grandmother’s name), [name_f]Rosemarie[/name_f] and [name_f]Estelle[/name_f].

The name thats been at the top of the list for 10+ years is [name_m]Felix[/name_m]!! Started loving at the same time as I started loving [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]!

When I was little, my favorite names were [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f] and [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]. I still like both of those names a lot, especially [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]. Nowadays, though, my all time favorite name is [name_f]Elodie[/name_f], [name_f]Lila[/name_f] following closely second. I love how melodic, graceful, sweet, and elegant it is without being too serious-sounding, and it isn’t even in the top 1,000. I also love the nickname [name_f]El[/name_f].

Thought I’d already replied, but apparently not. Anyway, [name_f]Pandora[/name_f] has been my favourite name for 4/5 years now. I love her personality, meaning, sound, and I’ve never been able to shake her. The first name I wanted to name a daughter (when I was about 8) was [name_f]Imogen[/name_f], and I still have her on my list, although too popular for me.

I was lucky, my husband happened to love the name I’ve loved since I was probably 7. [name_f]Lucille[/name_f]. I’ve dreamed of having a [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] since I was 12 and my grandma, [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], died. Other names came and went that I fell in love with, [name_f]Chloe[/name_f], [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f], [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f], [name_f]Willow[/name_f], etc. So [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] wasn’t #1 on my list the entire 18 years between when I fell in love with the name and when I gave it to my daughter. But she was always top 3! There has never been a boy name I loved as steadily as [name_f]Lucille[/name_f].

My favourite name is [name_f]Helena[/name_f]. I love all pronunciations of it and will be using it for my first girl no matter what😃

[name_u]Parker[/name_u]! After [name_u]Parker[/name_u] [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] Can’t Lose

I absolutely love it on a boy, but would probably use it for a girl. It’s a precious name.

Reviving this thread because I find it interesting!
For me, it would be [name_f]Coraline[/name_f]
I fell in love with the name when I was 7 or 8 and I first watched the movie [name_f]Coraline[/name_f]. It was one of my favorite movies growing up, so it makes sense that I’d come to really like the protagonist’s name

[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]. It’s elegant and classic. Unfortunately, I could not use it. :frowning:

My longest favorite was [name_u]Tris[/name_u], from the [name_f]Tamora[/name_f] [name_m]Pierce[/name_m] series A Circle Opens. I planned from a very young age to call a child [name_u]Tris[/name_u]. But my partner vetoed it. My second longest favorite is [name_f]Elowen[/name_f].

[name_u]Kendall[/name_u]- Its been on my list as a “back up” name since we had our daughter almost 10 years ago but has quickly moved to the front lines the last 4 or so years and I plan to use it for our next girl either as a first or middle name.
[name_f]Isla[/name_f]- I heard this name right after my eldest son was born 8 years ago. We loved it and it was actually our girl name we had picked out for our 2 other boys. Now its slowly fading because its become so popular but it still remains in my top 5.

[name_f]Gemma[/name_f]…loved it when I first heard it at age 14.

Mine’s [name_u]Jude[/name_u] for a little girl. I just love it. Can’t wait to have a daughter I can name [name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f].

I have 3 absolute favourites. Whichever one is my top absolute favourite gets switched every few days :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Not in order because I don’t really have one right now:
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
[name_u]Eloise[/name_u]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]

Mine is [name_f]Lily[/name_f]! I named my first pet (a fish) [name_f]Lily[/name_f] when I was around four years old, and I’ve loved it ever since. Thankfully it works as a nickname for lots of names, so I’m optimistic that I’ll get to use it on a daughter

Always loved the name [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] as a child. Now I really like [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] and [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f].

If we’re talking in terms of longevity, the name that has been on my lists since I started making lists around age 9 is [name_u]Austen[/name_u] for a girl (as in [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_u]Austen[/name_u]). It’s not the highest name on any current list, but it is the girl name that has always “been around” so to speak. I will never be able to use it as [name_m]Austin[/name_m] was used for a male family member.

I always think of [name_f]Abigail[/name_f], [name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_f]Gwendolen[/name_f], and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] as my lifelong favorites. Not necessarily always very high on my list (although right now [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is!), but ones that I have remembered loving for decades now.

I would say that [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] is my all-time favorite girls’ name, though–I’ve loved [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] ever since I first remember hearing it (talk about a WOW reaction!), and the similar [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] has been at the tippy top of my list for almost 8 years now, and it doesn’t show signs of fading. [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]'s… everything. I can’t really imagine any name ever coming to mean more than [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] does, but maybe I just haven’t met that other name yet!
