All You Berries Better Click This

Hello there, dearest Nameberry writer, It is I the Tomato Box [name_f]Fairy[/name_f] and I have need of your services. Yes you, the person reading his right now. I need specifically your help to name characters in my scholarship essay. Huzzah! (All you writing teens and tweens should check it out here> http://www.artandwriting.org/) Any-who, On to the good stuff:

Female 1: This is lady number one! Everyone give her a hand. She enjoys long walks on the beach, reading, and using manipulation tactics to overthrow an oppressive monarchy. She comes from a small rural country with just clay and goats. Her family consists of middle class farmers but she was patroned into her country’s university by a wealthy noble. Studying hard she became a member of the country’s parliament and seeks to rally the support of nobles against the king, establishing a new government. Her name should be fairly simple, peasant-ish, and a little foreign.
Male 1: A workaholic student studding under a different king, he is learning the art of calling (maybe a name for this too?) and accidentally summons female 1 right as as she is giving a rallying speech, creating a new problem. He is strict, disciplined and responsible. His family is somewhat well off. His name should be blunt but still fancy (also a nickname for Male 2 to call him).
Male 2: Male 1’s playful friend. He’s also studying but is much less learned than Male 1. This guy convinces his friend to summon an ancient deity through magic, but they end up calling Female 1. His name should be jovial and light but a little lower class.
I also need names for supporting characters such as the wizard and his wife, two kings, a prince, several nobles, a sister, and if you want to name three countries and several ranks (like Rothfuss uses “Maer” for like a king, stuff like that) be my guest.
Thank you so much, dear reader, for all the wonderful names you are now posting in the thread and if you have any suggestions please HMU. I really like to have my work critiqued and critique plus I’m quite chatty.
Cheers,
the Tomato Box [name_f]Fairy[/name_f]

I think naming kingdoms and stuff all depends on whatever setting and culture you’ve chosen (like how there’s obviously an education system in your story. Is there magic? War? These are some things to consider before deciding on titles and country names)

[name_f]Sister[/name_f]: I’m not sure who’s sister you mean, so here’s a variety of names: [name_f]Aubrianna[/name_f], [name_f]Griselda[/name_f], [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_f]Lettie[/name_f], [name_f]Neila[/name_f], [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f]

The first name that popped into my head for Male 1 was [name_m]Marcus[/name_m], it just seemed to fit and it does have a kind of magical quality to it that would suit a magician. There’s a whole raft of nicknames to choose from too, I’d go with [name_m]Mac[/name_m] personally because you said Male 2 is playful and I think that’s the kind of annoying NN a playful friend might come up with. However I also really like PP’s suggestions of [name_m]Lysander[/name_m] and Aureus. I’d steer clear of [name_u]Dorian[/name_u], because your character bears a passing similarity to [name_u]Dorian[/name_u] the mage from Dragon Age: Inquisition and it might look a bit like fan-fiction (nothing wrong with fan-fiction, just I’m guessing that’s not what you’re trying to do).

For his friend (Male 2), my initial thought was [name_m]Griffin[/name_m] NN [name_m]Griff[/name_m]. It’s playful and he could be any class really, it’s not a particularly posh or peasant name.

I’m drawing a blank on the girl’s name, but I like PP’s suggestion of [name_f]Zita[/name_f], it fits your criteria of ‘exotic’ but short and it has a really nice sound.
