Soooo 1984 to me. Definatley dated.

My niece is an [name]Allie[/name]. Full name [name]Allison[/name]. I also have a cousin who used the name too, and I think she is just [name]Allie[/name]. It isn’t short for anything. Another [name]Ali[/name] I know is an [name]Alicia[/name]. All of them are under the age of 10. It doesn’t seem dated to me at all. I do not know any [name]Allie[/name]'s that are adults, but I did know an [name]Allison[/name] in high school. (btw, I’m in my 30s) She never went by [name]Allie[/name].
[name]Allie[/name] makes me think of The Notebook!

[name]Allie[/name] - Timeless

[name]Ali[/name] - dated!

The spelling changes everything for me

I’m an [name]Ally[/name]. (My full name is [name]Alexandria[/name], which is where I got [name]Rhia[/name] for my user name.) I love my name, and don’t find it dated at all. But, with it being my name, I may be biased lol. As much as I love my name though, I wouldn’t want to be just [name]Ally[/name]. I love having a longer name to fall back on.

[name]Allie[/name] - timeless! I’ve actually really been starting to like it as a nn, potentially for [name]Alice[/name] or [name]Althea[/name]. I went through a span of not liking it for several years (and preferring the [name]Ally[/name] spelling), but I think it’s so sweet and I’ve grown to really like it again. At one point, I was sure I was going to change my name to [name]Alison[/name] [name]Grace[/name], nn [name]Allie[/name], haha. With such timeless [name]Al[/name]- names as [name]Alessandra[/name], [name]Allegra[/name], [name]Alice[/name], [name]Althea[/name], [name]Alina[/name], etc., I definitely see it as being timeless! Very pretty.

I know a little girl named [name]Allie[/name]–just [name]Allie[/name]–and she’s the cutest! I’m thinking that’s where my renewed interest for [name]Allie[/name] came from, haha.

Sorry [name]Ally[/name] is dated!

Besides I don’t see in any merit in it as a name; there are some gorgeous [name]Al[/name] names that do not deserve to be downgraded to having “[name]Ally[/name]” as a nickname.

I think [name]Allie[/name] is timeless. [name]Even[/name] though [name]Ellie[/name] may be more trendy right now, [name]Allie[/name] is still used for young girls (in addition to being a Mom’s name, as you said). I think it is such a sweet, fun nickname! I prefer it as a nickname rather than a stand alone name, but do think it could work as a given name.

I was leaning toward more timeless, since it is a likely nn for many given names. I would love to hear some more opinions and please vote in the poll!

A great friend of mine is an [name]Alli[/name], and she’s in her late 20s so it does feel slightly dated to me, with [name]Ali[/name] and [name]Aly[/name]. But [name]Allie[/name] is precious [name]IMO[/name], especially if you have a funkier full name to go along with it, like [name]Alice[/name] or Alomeda :3

I really like [name]Ally[/name] / [name]Allie[/name] and I think that [name]Allison[/name] is very pretty and more timeless than [name]Ellie[/name] / [name]Elly[/name] and [name]Ellison[/name]. I know someone who just named their daughter [name]Allison[/name] and I was surprised by how fresh it seemed. [name]Allie[/name] is also beautiful for [name]Alice[/name] or [name]Althea[/name] ect…or [name]Alan[/name] or [name]Alexander[/name] for that matter (it makes me think of the dead brother in The Catcher in the [name]Rye[/name]). My vote goes to ‘timeless’ and I put it in the same category as [name]Amy[/name] or [name]Sarah[/name]…yes a lot of them were born in 1984 but it totally works today just as well!

The name itself is timeless, but the [name]Allie[/name] spelling is very dated imo.

[name]Ally[/name] - not pretty
[name]Ali[/name] - too short
[name]Allie[/name] - gorgeous
I am actually an [name]Allison[/name], and I’ve gone by [name]Allison[/name] my whole life. I wish I went by [name]Allie[/name] instead. Next chance I’ve got to start fresh, I’m going with [name]Allie[/name]! [name]Allie[/name]'s so gorgeous!

I love [name]Allie[/name]! If we have a little girl and name her [name]Alaina[/name], [name]Allie[/name]/Alley [name]Cat[/name] will be her nickname. I have only ever met one [name]Allie[/name] and it seems fresh and sweet to me. Timeless for sure.

[name]Allie[/name] reminds me of [name]Allison[/name] [name]Hamilton[/name] from The Notebook - Timeless imo

Yes! This too! [name]Love[/name] The Notebook!

I think it’s better as a nickname…

I’m 16 and know a loooot of [name]Allie[/name]/[name]Ali[/name]/[name]Ally[/name] etc.'s, and they’re all either teenagers or little girls. To me that makes it seem like a name that’s hard to picture on an adult even though I know it was popular in the past. I don’t think [name]Ellie[/name] being more fashionable than [name]Allie[/name] makes [name]Allie[/name] dated persay, but I do think it’s going to be tied to the early 2000’s later because there are so many of little [name]Allie[/name]'s these days. I still like it a lot though

I find [name]Allie[/name] to be a very dated name, although besides that I have no issue with the name. But I do not find it timeless. I have a niece born in 2007 who was given the name [name]Allison[/name]/[name]Allie[/name] and I always wanted to tell my sister, “Dang girl, this isn’t 1989!” But my sister never took much of an interest in names and had a hard time coming up with any. Her other daughters have very dated names, too. Names that were all popular in the 80s and 90s.

Anyway, so no I don’t find [name]Allie[/name] to be timeless. I put it in the same category as [name]Sarah[/name], [name]Jessica[/name] and [name]Lisa[/name].

For me, it is timeless. So cute. To me, it is in the same class of names like [name]Kate[/name] and [name]Claire[/name]. They are often names of characters in books and movies.
