I’m crushing very hard on [name_u]Rex[/name_u] right now. It sounds cool and isn’t nearly as popular as [name_u]Owen[/name_u]. I had my doubts about [name_u]Owen[/name_u] to begin with, so I’m really glad I’ve finally found something I like better. We get to find out the gender [name_u]March[/name_u] 2nd (if baby cooperates.)
So what do you think about [name_u]Rex[/name_u]? What ‘r’ middle would you suggest?
I like [name_u]Rex[/name_u] [name_m]Ricardo[/name_m] myself…or [name_u]Rex[/name_u] [name_m]Rudolfo[/name_m]. Though it’s a bit tongue-twisty to say any R name with [name_u]Rex[/name_u]. Does it have to be alliterative? Here’s some other R names:
I love [name_u]Rex[/name_u] Rudoplh! And [name_u]Rex[/name_u] [name_m]Russell[/name_m]. I wanted alliterative because it reminds me of a glamorous Hollywood star, circa 1960s. I’m not sure how I get this image with a [name_u]Rex[/name_u] R- name, but I like it. Lol [name_u]Rex[/name_u] [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] is one of my favorite classic actors, so that could be a contributing factor?
[name_u]Rex[/name_u] [name_m]Ryland[/name_m]
[name_u]Rex[/name_u] [name_m]Remington[/name_m]
[name_u]Rex[/name_u] [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m]
[name_u]Rex[/name_u] [name_u]Royal[/name_u] looks good but is hard to say out loud
[name_u]Rex[/name_u] [name_m]Reginald[/name_m]
[name_u]Rex[/name_u] is very much a dogs’ name over here, so I’m not sure how to feel about it. With an R middle name, it also sounds a bit too cartoonish for me.
I’d probably go with something more classic, such as the suggested [name_u]Rex[/name_u] [name_m]Robert[/name_m] or [name_u]Rex[/name_u] [name_m]Richard[/name_m]. They actually sound very “old hollywood” to me, while a more out-there middle name would evoke more of a comic hero image (for me anyway).
There are so many good suggestions here! I can’t even keep up. Lol Thanks everyone who has replied already. If I wasn’t on mobile, I’d list all of my favorites so far. (My phone tries to autocorrect names.)
@opheliaflora: There’s the dog association here also, but I’ve never known a dog named [name_u]Rex[/name_u] and there are plenty of dogs with human names, so I don’t really care that much. I definitely hope you guys would be concerned if I post a thread about Spot, however!
@dewdropsandroses: You’re right, [name_f]Stella[/name_f] and [name_u]Rex[/name_u] WOULD be great siblings, but I have no plans for #2 right now. I didn’t even have plans for this one! Haha
I like the suggestions of [name_u]Rex[/name_u] [name_m]Robert[/name_m] and [name_u]Rex[/name_u] [name_m]Russell[/name_m]. Avoid [name_u]Rex[/name_u] [name_u]Ryan[/name_u]–that’s a not-so-popular American football coach (which is too bad because I like that combo).
I had the dog’s name in mind, too, also because there is this TV show around a police dog called “Kommissar [name_u]Rex[/name_u]” (Inspector [name_u]Rex[/name_u], Inspector Rex - Wikipedia).
I hope it’s not to mean to add mental connections from other cultures that come up with that name. Because in Germany there was this Schlager-singer [name_u]Rex[/name_u] Gildo who is the only person I ever knew had this name… For more on [name_u]Rex[/name_u] there’s also an English Wikipedia post. Or type [name_u]Rex[/name_u] Gildo into YouTube and listen to his great hit “Fiesta Mexicana”.
Regarding a middle name, how about
[name_u]Rex[/name_u] [name_m]Roland[/name_m]
[name_u]Rex[/name_u] [name_m]Roald[/name_m]
[name_u]Rex[/name_u] [name_m]Roderich[/name_m]
[name_u]Rex[/name_u] [name_m]Reamon/name_m
[name_u]Rex[/name_u] [name_m]Rasmus[/name_m]
