Alma [AL-mə] is from the Latin word almus meaning “nourishing, kind, propitious”. It also means “soul” in Spanish. In Hungarian, it means “apple”. Then, in Hebrew, it means “young woman”. It’s a name with a variety of meanings and a lovely sound.
To me, Alma is a rather cozy name. It makes me think of early mornings in late summer where the mist hangs in the air over the fields: warm, fresh, and new.

I recently learned that Solette means “little sunshine” and [name_f]Alma[/name_f] Solette (“nurturing, little sunshine”) gives me exactly the warm summer vibes you described.
I’ve never heard of the name Solette. It’s got quite a sweet sound and I love the meaning. It would make for quite an interesting combo!
I had tried out the combos [name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_u]Sol[/name_u] and [name_f]Alma[/name_f] Solis when coming up with combos but they seemed too wordy (ignoring the fact that Solis sounds an awful lot like “solace”). Solette strikes that balance well! I’ll have to keep it in mind when coming up with combos in the future.
I also think [name_f]Alma[/name_f] has a warm, cozy and gentle sound. [name_f]My[/name_f] favourite combination of the ones you listed is [name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]. [name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] does bring about cozy vibes to my mind but it strikes me as more like [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] cookies coming out of the oven during the holidays in a warm house with all the lights on and a fireplace burning. Idk, it’s just more of a wintery name to me. However, I really really like the name Solette. [name_f]Alma[/name_f] Solette sounds extremely memorable and just all around gorgeous. Out of the combos you currently have picked out I favor [name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Bethany[/name_f] and think it fits your cozy, snuggly, vibe the best

@janeybaby: I can 100% see the cozy holiday vibe, I kinda’ get that with [name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]. [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] has always struck me as a Christmas-type name, almost like a holiday wreath hung on a door on a snowy day.
Solette is quite an unexpected beauty. She’s growing on me, for sure.
Thank you!
@elanorelle: I’m excited you have the same vibe from [name_f]Alma[/name_f]! I have synesthesia so my “vibes” and imagery from names tend to be a bit different to other people.
@katkabet: [name_f]Alma[/name_f] does sit well with my other names, doesn’t it? I love the idea of siblings named [name_f]Alma[/name_f] and [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] in particular.
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] would be cute! It sort of reminds me of someone saying [name_f]Imogene[/name_f] with a full mouth.

@river_dweller: [name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Opal[/name_f] is adorable. I also like [name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Coralie[/name_f], which I did have on my list before narrowing it down. So, great idea!
I love [name_f]Apolline[/name_f] (instead of the [name_f]Appoline[/name_f] spelling). [name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Apolline[/name_f] isn’t one I’ve considered for my [name_f]Alma[/name_f] combo. It’s a beauty. Oh! And it brings to mind [name_f]Apollonia[/name_f]. I’m a sucker for saints’ names, particularly Orthodox Saints.

[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite is probably [name_f]Alma[/name_f] [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]. I like the double L sound!
