So, since it seems that suggestions have been exhausted on boys names for me, It’s time to start putting them together.
First name choices:
[name]Hector[/name]
[name]Ernest[/name]
[name]Matthias[/name]
[name]Eugene[/name] (family name)
[name]Gregory[/name]
[name]Gerard[/name] (Wary of this one; lead singer of my favorite band (MCR), and if I used this name it WOULD be for that reason. Too fangirly? Too negative? Opinions?!)
I love your naming style. With hypothetical sisters I would pair:
[name]Hector[/name] [name]Lionel[/name]
[name]Gerard[/name] [name]Nathaniel[/name] (I don’t think your reasons to use [name]Gerard[/name] are strange; actually, [name]Nathaniel[/name] is a lead singer of MY favorite band and on my list too :))
[name]Ernest[/name] [name]Cornelius[/name]
[name]Gregory[/name] [name]Eugene[/name]
[name]Ernest[/name] Dashiel
These were the “automatic” matches for me. [name]Gerard[/name] is my favorite name on your list. It’s incredibly dashing and very underused. [name]Gerard[/name] was actually quite popular in medieval times, so it’s got a far longer and richer history than people might think. I don’t think it’s too “fangirly” to name your son after your favorite singer. I’m sure there are a lot of parents out there who have done the same. The SSA charts are dotted with names like [name]Lennon[/name], [name]Hendrix[/name], [name]Presley[/name], and [name]Jagger[/name]. You aren’t alone. Several of the names on my list are after or at least inspired by fictional characters. [name]Even[/name] if your love for [name]Gerard[/name] [name]Way[/name] fades over time, your son will still have a fantastic name.
Oooh, I love a lot of your choices! I don’t think [name]Gerard[/name] is unusable because of the band connection; if anything, that makes it cooler. When I hear the name, I immediately think of English footballer [name]Steven[/name] [name]Gerrard[/name], rather than MCR.
[name]Gregory[/name] [name]Dashiell[/name] - [name]Dashiell[/name] is spelled with two l’s
[name]Matthias[/name] [name]Geoffrey[/name] - the older form of [name]Geoffrey[/name] is spelled this way.
[name]Matthias[/name] [name]Ruben[/name] - I prefer the Biblical spelling of [name]Reuben[/name]
[name]Hector[/name] [name]Nathaniel[/name]
[name]Eugene[/name] [name]Nathaniel[/name]
[name]Gerard[/name] [name]Cornelius[/name]
Thanks for all the compliments, and encouragement about [name]Gerard[/name]! It’s nice to know that only my family will be rolling their eyes. Especially southern.maple, you make a very good point that it’s an awesome name anyway.
I prefer Dashiel with one L; I’ve always thought of it that way, and find the two Ls to be unnecessary and feminine. However, thank you for the corrections on [name]Reuben[/name] and [name]Geoffrey[/name]. I’ll go back and fix them in the original post.
