TLDR [name_f]My[/name_f] husband won’t budge on [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and it was always my #1[name_f][/name_f] but its popularity has changed my mind on opting for it.
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] was always my #1[name_f][/name_f] and my husband agreed so he never contemplated anything else. As the year have gone on, my taste has changed a bit and he hasn’t stayed up to date on the trends. [name_f][/name_f]Now we are actually having a daughter and my choice would be [name_f]Jane[/name_f], I also love [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] but our last name is 3 syllables. [name_f][/name_f]He’s now looking into name meanings (ridiculous as we have a son named Calvin) and wants a name that means strength. [name_f][/name_f]He has done this with our other pregnancies- been all over the map with his preferences. [name_f][/name_f]I would love some names that are as pretty and sharp sounding as [name_f]Violet[/name_f] but I also lean more vintage now and would prefer one syllable. HELP!!
[name_f]Bridget[/name_f] (nickname [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] or [name_m]Jet[/name_m] (I prefer [name_m]Jet[/name_m] as a nickname for a boy, but think it is still cute and strong for a little girl) [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Lola[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Monroe[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Val[/name_m]

I wouldn’t rule out [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] just because your last name is 3 syllables if you otherwise like it. In many accents [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] is closer to two syllables than three.
This may be completely different taste in names than your typical but

[name_f]Azalea[/name_f]- plant name like violet, strong letter z / v but way less common [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Aster[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- also a plant name [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Viola[/name_f]
