Wondering if [name_m]Iggy[/name_m] is too weird of a nickname for [name_f]Abigail[/name_f]?
[name_u]Abby[/name_u] is usually what you hear, but we’ve been thinking [name_m]Iggy[/name_m]. Yay or nay? And why?
THANK YOU!

[name_u]Abby[/name_u] is usually what you hear, but we’ve been thinking [name_m]Iggy[/name_m]. Yay or nay? And why?
THANK YOU!
Yay! It sounds fresh and it’s definitely way less used.
I think it’s cute! You may have to kind of enforce it though. I’ve heard that most people nowadays will follow the parents’ lead when it comes to nicknaming kids, which I think is true to a point, but I’ve never met an [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] who has been able to avoid being called [name_u]Abby[/name_u]/[name_u]Abi[/name_u]/[name_u]Abbie[/name_u] (and I can name a ton of Abigails off the top of my head). I think [name_m]Iggy[/name_m] is a nice alternative and it makes sense with the full name!
I like it! I’m an [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] and I go by [name_u]Abi[/name_u]. Because the spelling is so uncommon it helps to combat the popularity of [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] and it feels to me like a whole other name than [name_u]Abby[/name_u].
[name_m]Iggy[/name_m] is a stunning nickname for [name_f]Abigail[/name_f]. People may call her [name_u]Abby[/name_u] though, but I’m sure if you called her [name_m]Iggy[/name_m], people would catch on and call her that as well.
Yes, what a great idea!
Yay! I think [name_m]Iggy[/name_m] is adorable: Spunky, distinctive, and perfect for a strong young woman.
I think it’s a great idea, and it totally makes sense as a nn for [name_f]Abigail[/name_f]
[name_f]Abigail[/name_f] nn [name_m]Iggy[/name_m] is adorable!
Mmm, not sure if I could take an [name_m]Iggy[/name_m] seriously. I do like [name_f]Aggi[/name_f] though
I definitely do not like [name_m]Iggy[/name_m] or [name_f]Aggy[/name_f] for such a beautiful name as [name_f]Abigail[/name_f]. You could use [name_f]Gail[/name_f]
I think [name_m]Iggy[/name_m] and [name_f]Aggy[/name_f] definitely work, another idea could be Nabby, it’s what [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Adams[/name_m]’ daughter [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] went by and I’ve always thought it was an interesting alternative to [name_u]Abby[/name_u].
[name_m]Iggy[/name_m] works. People will go with whatever you call her, and whatever she says she likes when she’s older. [name_f]Gail[/name_f] would also work as a nickname
