This is the name I want to use for our 3rd boy (4th baby), and my husband says its growing on him, but I wanted to see about similar names. Im not looking for longer versions of [name_m]Beau[/name_m] as we like short names.
So thats kind of our style. So any suggestions that would go with out sibset that feel similar to [name_m]Beau[/name_m]?
Also, IF we use [name_m]Beau[/name_m] can anyone suggest MNs? We have used family names for MNs thus far but we are blanking as they dont sound great with [name_m]Beau[/name_m] ([name_m]Alan[/name_m]–my dad-- was our top but it wont work with [name_m]Beau[/name_m]). We met in NY and got engaged on the Empire State Bldg, so maybe something NYish?
[name_m]Bram[/name_m] [name_m]Alan[/name_m]. [name_u]Finn[/name_u], [name_f]Eva[/name_f], [name_u]Rhys[/name_u], and [name_m]Bram[/name_m].
[name_m]Joel[/name_m] - That round o-sound of [name_m]Beau[/name_m].
[name_m]Hugh[/name_m], [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]
[name_m]Clay[/name_m]
[name_u]Ash[/name_u]
[name_u]Roy[/name_u] - [name_m]Beau[/name_m] has a cool sort of half modern, half retro cowboy sound to it, [name_u]Roy[/name_u] echoes that. [name_u]Roy[/name_u] [name_m]Alan[/name_m] works.
[name_u]Nico[/name_u] made me think of some thing like [name_u]Nico[/name_u] Yates or [name_u]Noah[/name_u] [name_m]Yves[/name_m] - initials NY. Very, very subtle, not too “I NAMED HIM EMPIRE GET IT?” and kind of cool. But not a long name like [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]… though [name_m]Nathan[/name_m] could maybe work?
[name_u]Quinn[/name_u], [name_m]Brooks[/name_m], [name_m]Wells[/name_m], [name_u]Jude[/name_u], [name_u]Shane[/name_u], [name_m]Mack[/name_m], [name_m]Bram[/name_m]. I think [name_m]Alan[/name_m] sounds great with [name_m]Beau[/name_m] but maybe it’s not working with your surname or something. I like the idea of using another family name. Is your surname usable as a name? The only [name_m]New[/name_m] [name_m]York[/name_m] reference I can think of is [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u]. I don’t know, I’m from Chicago haha. I like the idea of the NY initials. Maybe [name_m]Nash[/name_m]…[name_m]Young[/name_m]…[name_u]Yardley[/name_u]…[name_u]Yale[/name_u]? That’s a tough letter to work with. Our just give him the middle name [name_m]York[/name_m] with a first name you love. Oh what about [name_u]Hudson[/name_u] in reference to the [name_u]Hudson[/name_u] [name_u]River[/name_u]? [name_m]Beau[/name_m] [name_u]Hudson[/name_u]! Very handsome!
I love [name_m]Beau[/name_m]! Such a handsome (ha! No pun intended) name, and [name_u]Finn[/name_u], [name_f]Eva[/name_f], [name_u]Rhys[/name_u], and [name_m]Beau[/name_m] are lovely together. What do you dislike about [name_m]Beau[/name_m] [name_m]Alan[/name_m]? I think it’s great, actually. I think it sounds better than your other boys’ names, [name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] and [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] [name_m]John[/name_m] (not that I’m saying they’re bad, haha–I think they’re great–I just think [name_m]Beau[/name_m] [name_m]Alan[/name_m] sounds even better than they do). I think [name_m]Beau[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] would be really handsome, too, or [name_m]Beau[/name_m] [name_m]Charles[/name_m]. [name_m]Beau[/name_m] [name_m]Isaac[/name_m]?
Honestly we are leaning towards [name_m]Beau[/name_m] [name_m]Alan[/name_m] now, after thinking about it I would hate to name all three of my first children after family ([name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] is after my husband [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] my mom and [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] [name_m]John[/name_m] my grandpa who died while I was pregnant) and not this one. I felt like since [name_m]Beau[/name_m] and [name_m]Alan[/name_m] had vowels at the end and beginning it would sound odd, but I dont ever call my boys by their full names anyway, I do call [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] often, maybe bc it sounds better
thanks for the input. Im still hoping my husband likes [name_m]Beau[/name_m]
That said, [name_m]Beau[/name_m] is my favorite, especially with your sibset. I think that [name_m]Beau[/name_m] [name_m]Alan[/name_m] is a fine name and has a nice rhythm to it. The double vowels don’t bother me. You could also do a variant, e.g. [name_m]Landon[/name_m], [name_m]Len[/name_m], [name_m]Langston[/name_m].
[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_m]Brooks[/name_m]? Its a one-syllable B name like [name_m]Beau[/name_m] and it could be linked with [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u], as in the borough. I also think it works perfectly and is so cute with [name_u]Finn[/name_u], [name_f]Eva[/name_f], and [name_u]Rhys[/name_u].
